Immigrants Landing at Ellis Island (1903)

*** (out of 4)

Edison film showing various immigrants getting off a boat at Ellis Island (just like the title says). This is an interesting early short as it's certainly showing a part of history but the Edison Company certainly didn't go out of there way to do anything special with the film. The cinematography is pretty lazy but it's on mark with everything thing else out there around this time. The DVD lists this as being filmed on Thursday, July 9th. The DVD also mentions that both Frank Capra and Edward G. Robinson arrived at the same port about six weeks earlier.
