Writer Ram Kelker had written the script of Paisa Yeh Paisa and reserved it for Sohanlal Kanwar. When the producers heard the story of Paisa Yeh Paisa they liked the story and requested Sohanlal Kanwar to make the film for him. The filmmaker agreed.
Filmaker Sohanlal Kanwar last released film, this was the second time he directed film for other producers,the first being Naatak starring Vijay Arora. He usually directed his own productions.
Music Composer Usha Kbanna who had also music for this film, her brothers Ashok Khanna and Prabhat Khanna are the brothers of Usha Khanna. Both the brothers were working with Subhash Ghai and later they made Uttar Dakshin.
During the making Subhash Ghai"s Hero, Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Seshadri had signed Paisa Yeh Paisa which was Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Seshadri their second film toghther.
After Paisa Yeh Paisa, Sohan Kanwar started his production Tadap with Nana Patekar, Chunky Pandey and Meenakshi Seshadri.
