10 Killer Facts About 80s Horror Classic Trick or Treat

10 Killer Facts About 80s Horror Classic Trick or Treat
"Hey you! Feeling down? Tear down the walls!" Sammi Curr is hands-down our favorite fictitious heavy metal hero, beloved by all of us fans of box-office bomb Trick Or Treat, a 1986 horror flick that's gained cult status among the metal faithful. Here we'll take a look at 10 killer facts about Trick or Treat.

Freddy vs. Sammi

Touching on the supernatural, the Pmrc driven fears of the '80s, and a bit of "satanic panic," Trick Or Treat tells the story of Sammi Curr, a dead rocker resurrected through "back-masking" who helps his number one fan get revenge on the high school bullies. Trick Or Treat wasn't successful enough to earn sequels but its antihero's origin is connected to the much more successful supernaturally powered resurrected slasher, Freddy Krueger. Michael S. Murphey and Joel Soisson produced the movie after making Freddy's Revenge, bringing horror F/X master Kevin Yagher with them.

Above all, it’s the season for haunted hayrides, menacing mazes, eerie escape rooms, and spooky spectacles. These attractions are more popular now than ever. Forbes reported on the numbers: Halloween spending reached $8.4 billion in 2016, and it was estimated to reach $9.1 billion last year, so the timing is perfect for a big-screen horror film that’s set almost entirely in an amusement park on All Hallows’ Eve.

Hell Fest falls back on a familiar formula: put archetypal, good-looking young people in peril on a dark night and let the body count commence. The “Hell Fest” of the title is a traveling carnival that features a labyrinth of horror-themed rides, diversions, and themed rooms, and attracts thousands of fans wherever it goes. It’s all fun and games at first, but our heroes

Read onward to learn all we know about the film and then watch two trailers that will make you jump, either for joy or out of genuine panic. What's it about? As it so happens, it looks exactly how you might expect it to look and, depending on your love for low-budget B-movie action, that is either going to be a great or terrible thing.

This trailer, in a not at all surprising bit of convenient timing, just so happened to drop on the same day that the final trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom arrived. Coincidence? Likely not. And if you're one of the people who just can't find a reason to get excited about a fifth Jurassic Park movie, this may serve as a schlocky substitute. The Jurassic Games

Shadowhunters Season 2 Episode 9 Review: Bound by Blood

  • TVfanatic
Never make a blood oath. It's a rule of thumb we should all follow!

Clary should know better than to have made a deal blindly. After the events on Shadowhunters Season 2 Episode 9, I don't think she ever will.

It nearly killed her and hurt everyone.

"Bound by Blood" played on the theme of curses and forced motivations.

I liked that these characters, while flawed but genuinely nice people, had a looming threat forcing their choices. More often than not it was for a bad reason. They had no choice but to come to a decision.

Clary going through the blood oath put everything into perspective for her. Life and death aren't so simple. And her life impacts everyone if she touches the sword.

I loved the subtle coincidence of the curse starting to affect her hand. It was a great reminder of the dangerous power she holds. She could destroy worlds with a single touch.
