(at around 43 mins) After the farmer has been knocked out and the animals attempt to make it appear as though a branch fell on him while reading against a tree, we see from the farmer's point-of-view that Otis places the book on the farmer spine-first with the open pages facing out. Quotes

Freddy the Ferret: [the unconscious farmer has discovered the animals] He knows too much! We gotta take care of him. We gotta whack him!
Otis the Cow: There will be NO WHACKING! Okay? The farmer's a good guy! He's been good to us.
Miles the Mule: He's a vegan! God bless him.
Pig the Pig: And, uh, what is a vegan again?
Freddy the Ferret: Oh, I know this one...
Pip the Mouse: Naw, I got it... it means you can't eat anything with a face.
Peck the Rooster: No, no, that's a vegetarian.
Pig the Pig: Vegetarians have to eat in the dark, right?
Duke the Dog: That's a VAMPIRE. C'mon!
Pip the Mouse: You can't eat cheese?

Otis the Cow (Kevin James) is the carefree irresponsible son of Ben the cow (Sam Elliott). So while Otis danced, Ben was fighting off the coyotes from the hen house. When Ben dies fighting the coyotes, Otis must step up, but he just can't fill his father's shoes.

Steve Oedekerk did not have a good day when he created this pretty boring cartoon. The animation is horrendous. I don't know if it's a style choice, but it looks extremely cheap. There's a good message in here, but it's lost in weak humor and weaker characters. The movie is missing joy. Even when they're throwing around some jokes, they never work. Otis is just not likable.
