The Mickey Maguire comedies enter the sound era with this short, in which the kids put on a show.
Unfortunately -- or fortunately, if you don't care for the series -- only the second reel of this two-reel OUR GANG-like series is available. It's in very good shape, as the usual suspects put on a show for an audience of other children, all of whom seem to be well-armed with large assortments of large vegetables.
I'm not overly fond of the series in which the kids put on a show, since its humor is invariably about how inept they are at doing it; are they supposed to be polished performers? My opinion of this particular example is that the Little Rascals did it better, at least until Alfalfa began to sing.
