Storyline

Ben Sheffield returns to his small hometown of Heatley Bay on the Canadian west coast as the new Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) officer. He and his mother - recently deceased - left the town when he was two years old after his father died. Ben or his mother had never returned to Heatley Bay until now. He is to work with existing Heatley Bay DFO officer Mary Leonard. Mary purports to be an old friend of his mother's, although his mother never mentioned Mary to him. Many in town knew of him and also knew his mother, including John Croat, who is known to the locals as Luther. Luther lives in the Sheffield home and just won't leave the house even after Ben arrives to assume possession. Kyle Jenkins also knows of Ben, Kyle's father who killed Ben's father in a drunken fight. A young man, Kyle mentally is no longer the man he once was after a work accident. Not provided with disability pay, Kyle survives by beach combing and conducting petty crimes, which the townsfolk tolerate. ... Written by Huggo

Another garbage production.

I wish I had something nice to say about this feature, but it wouldn't be fair to lie. Editing is extremely long and drawn out, while the characters and weak dialog are completely see through. The scenery is boring, and this movie could use some serious colour (that's how Canadians spell it) correcting to make it less bland. The music is down right dreadful, and embarrassing. Story and plot are painful at best. I don't fault the actors as a few are okay, but many feel like they are being forced to act. No special direction, and this feels more like a bad CBC pilot that never got picked up than it does a movie. Cliché from start to finish...but never pulled my pulse up over 54 BPM. If your cable goes out, and only one channel works and this is playing, sit in the dark. If you and five dollars are in a fight, spend the five dollars on this rental just to get even.
