Storyline

Many years ago, in the hidden village of Konoha, lived a great demon fox. When it swung one of it's nine tails, a tsunami occurred. The fourth hokage sealed this demon fox inside a boy in exchange for his own life. Naruto was that boy, and he grew up with no family, and the villagers hated him thinking that he himself was the demon fox. Naruto's dream is to become Hokage, and have the villagers acknowledge him. Trivia

There once was a Japanese priest who supposedly enchanted a teapot to never be empty at a party and was believed to be a tanuki. His name was Shukaku. Gaara's tanuki demon is named Shukaku. See more »

Goofs

In some episodes of the series, some symbols on the clothes that the characters wear have some mistakes on them. Like sometimes, the Leaf symbol on the Leaf headbands would not have the pointy part of the symbol on it, and sometimes, the Sound symbol would have either a wavy flag or a non-wavy flag on it. And the Mist symbols would sometimes be lines instead of squiggly lines. On one of the early episodes, Sasuke Uchiha had a blue shirt with the Uchiha Clan symbol on the back, but on one shot where he talks to Sakura Haruno, the Clan symbol is not on his back. And some of the characters' faces were drawn badly in the original Japanese film, but were edited in the English version. See more »

Alternate Versions

In the Japanese version of the anime series, after Naruto does the Sexy Jutsu (in both the first and second episodes) there is blood coming out of either Iruka, The Third Hokage, or Ebisu's nose. In the English release of the anime, this was completely altered to make it appear that the characters were falling backwards (something that happens frequently in anime when an unexpected event occurs). But for some reason, in the episode 2 dub, after the 3rd Hokage "falls backwards", he gets back up, and there is a trace of blood on the handkerchief under his nose, suggesting that he was only bleeding a little bit. User Reviews

Amazing show.
18 August 2005 | by gts7133See all my reviews

I have watched Naruto for about a year now and I have to say that it is one of the most engaging and developed anime shows ever. There are currently 146 episode, 2 specials, and 1 movie and all of them have something positive to contribute to the anime world. The only thing that slows the pace down is the flash back episodes, or the episodes where it is heavily based on dialog. The action in the show is fantastic and the animation in the show is done perfectly. But the one thing that makes this anime a cut above the rest is the music. With original recordings, the in show music is the icing on this already delicious cake. I highly recommend Naruto if you are looking for a deep, engaging anime show dripping in style and originality.
