‘Mission: Impossible Fallout’ Featurette Showcases Halo Jump Stunt

Paramount has released a brand-new featurette for a new stunt from the upcoming ‘Mission: Impossible Fallout‘ and it looks absolutely insane. Although the franchise is seeing it’s 6th entry with ‘Mission: Impossible Fallout‘, star Tom Cruise seems bound and determined to top himself with each respective entry. One of the highlights of the franchise have always been witnessing the memorable stunts that Cruise and co. bring to the big screen.

Even though director Christopher McQuarrie teased the stunt on social media a few weeks ago, this feature provides a quick nuts and bolts approach to how they actually accomplished shooting such a dangerous stunt. The featurette dives into how they prepared for the jump with the creation of Tom Cruise’s helmet–which served as both a prop and life-saving device–all the way to the actually implementation of the stunt. Although the crew ended up requiring nearly 100 jumps

Recommended New Books on Filmmaking: ‘Blade Runner 2049,’ Francis Ford Coppola, David Bowie & More

One additional book that should be on your year-end list is Mark Frost’s Twin Peaks: The Final Dossier. It’s a satisfying companion to season three of Peaks, not to mention Frost’s own Secret History of Twin Peaks. So be sure to check out Nick Newman’s recent interview with the Peaks co-creator.

Live Cinema and Its Techniques by Francis Ford Coppola (Liveright)

The legendary Francis Ford Coppola has spoken of “live cinema” with regularity over the years, specifically with respect to 1981’s One From the Heart. That film, a box office flop now held in some regard, is an essential part of Live Cinema and Its Techniques, a fascinating new book authored by Coppola himself. The lessons from that experience, Coppola says,

WWE Raw stars jumping to Smackdown? Shawn Michaels offered Wrestlemania 33 match

Last November, Rock ‘The Dwayne’ Johnson delighted audiences with his portrayal of the demigod Maui in the Disney animated movie Moana. The film has made over $600 million at the global box office since. An impressive haul – considering at least one person contributed nothing towards it.

The Rock’s kind-of-relative Roman Reigns (their grandfathers were blood brothers) has revealed on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning whether he’d seen the movie: “Once, and it was bootlegged…so yeah, sorry Rock.”

Reigns committed a crime without facing any substantial consequences. Which probably means he is moving to Smackdown. Hell, he’d probably get a WWE Championship shot.

Two other Raw wrestlers have also been rumoured for a Smackdown move. Squared Circle Sirens have reported Summer Rae – who’s been out with a shoulder injury since last August – has been at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando to get medically cleared to return to the ring.

WWE: Shawn Michaels Teases A Return At The Royal Rumble

  • LRM Online
If there's one thing that's certain in a business that's all "Never say 'Never'" it's that wrestlers don't tend to stay retired.

The last time the WWE Royal Rumble was in San Antonio, Texas (which happens to be his hometown), "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels successfully defended his World Heavyweight Title against Sycho Sid. The following Thursday, he famously vacated the Championship citing that he'd "lost his smile."

Well, if you saw Hbk on last night's WWE Monday Night Raw, you saw that the man is definitely smiling a lot these days. With the Rumble being back in San Antonio, and with him showing up to deliver some Sweet Chin Music to Rusev last night, Michaels was asked if there's a chance he could be one of this year's "Surprise Entrants" into the Royal Rumble match.

Here's what Hbk said:

"Well, I certainly may come by and visit. But, you

Small Screen Rom-Coms Explore the Next Steps After the ‘Happy Ending’

Small Screen Rom-Coms Explore the Next Steps After the ‘Happy Ending’
It’s no secret that most romantic comedies follow a formula. As Sharon Horgan, co-creator and star of the Amazon series “Catastrophe,” aptly rattles off, “You know at what point the music is going to soar, you know at what point they’re going to fall out, and when they’re going to get back together and when it’s going to resolve.”

But as the film industry churns out rote sequels, pastiches and even parodies of romantic comedies (ah, “Mother’s Day”), television is upping the ante.

Many of these genre-bending romantic comedies (and there are many) are available on streaming services: Amazon’s “Catastrophe” for one; Hulu has “Casual” and Mindy Kaling’s “The Mindy Project,” which it saved from cancellation on Fox; Netflix offers Aziz Ansari and Alan Yang’s “Master of None” and “Love,” co-created by Judd Apatow — no stranger to the cinematic romantic comedy world.

Doris Roberts, Star of ‘Everybody Loves Raymond,’ Dies at 90
