Ensemble drama about conversations overheard in a bistro. Two chess players see unfolding dramas. A couple on an uncomfortable blind date, while a marriage crumbles. Film-noir fans thinks they're witnessing a real-life murder.
I had the opportunity to see the very first showing of this movie ever, which showed at the Tribeca Film Festival. I thought the characters were very real and honest. The film allowed me to see what I have felt like doing for a long time now. It played out what I think about all the time. In that way, it touched me in a personal way. Basically, it is about two people who decide to let go of societal norms and just do what they want to do, they become completely free-spirited. It is also a great love story and the viewer really roots for the relationship. Winner did a wonderful job developing the characters and has created a very different kind of movie. I highly recommend it!
