Trivia

Early in the movie, The Commander and Jetstream are called away to deal with "trouble downtown", before Will and Layla leave for their first day. On their way, they have a conversation where The Commander tells Jetstream not to worry about Will, and she says "What if he forgets his lunch?" When the kids leave for the bus, Will doesn't seem to carry a lunch, but has a shoulder bag, so his lunch could be in there, but at lunch he has a lunch tray like the other kids, with what looks like a school lunch, so it appears he did forget his lunch. Goofs

On the first day of school, the bus is shown driving on an unfinished bridge as a launching point for takeoff. While on the bridge trees can be seen in the background, and the bridge is about as high as the tops of the trees. When they launch off the end of the bridge, as the bus is transforming into a plane, there is a view looking down that shows them hundreds or even thousands of feet above the city. See more »

Steve: Sorry.
[Will hugs Steve back]
Steve: Ow, you ARE strong! All right, if your mom asks, you tell her I read you the riot act and I took away your xBox.

Crazy Credits

The end credits are decorated with still-frame comic-book illustrations. One of the still frames has a single animated element - a purple monster's eye, which moves and blinks. (It appears just before the music credits.) See more »

Alternate Versions

In the Disney Channel premiere of Sky High, the end credits are different than they are in the theatrical and DVD releases. Instead of the comic book type end credits like in the theatrical version it is replaced by DC with the credits on the left side and a montage of scenes from the film on the right side of the credits. Harry Potter meets the Incredibles.
29 July 2005 | by delsol-1See all my reviews

I remember the days when I was a kid and loved Disney comedies. Son of Flubber, The Shaggy Dog, etc. Then there was the classic period after I got a little older with Kurt Russell Disney movies. Well those days are back and you can even take your kids. It is PG rather than the G of the old stuff but that is only because of violence and that violence is directed mostly at property. The characters are not killed or injured. (A lot better than the Bad News Bears which the theater had warnings up about being a STRONG PG 13). Anyway Kurt Russell is so campy in this one and (what a shock) so is Bruce Campbell. The plot and theme borrow a lot from the Incredibles (which is a good thing because I liked it the best of Pixar's flicks) Also you might think Hogwarts when you see the classes except the high school floats in the sky and rather than potions and avoiding the dark forces the student learn how to be superhero sidekicks and how to build ray guns in science class. Won't go any further on that except to say that those scenes are a hoot. Anyway the good guys win, the bad guys lose, the hero is taught lessons about life and everyone gets a laugh a minute as it all comes about.
