Near the end of the Goldberg vs. Lesnar match, a Hulk Hogan impersonator in the nosebleeds managed to get nearly the entire crowd focused on him instead of the match. This lead to many of the fan members noticeably turning their heads to the upper right of the TV screen and as well as "popping" for him and starting many "Hogan" chants. The crowd's attention would remain on the man until redirected to the match by a Goldberg Spear.
Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero, longtime friends outside the ring, would go on to leave this event holding both major WWE titles (the World Heavyweight and WWE Championship respectively). Less than four years later, both men would pass away (Guerrero in '05, Benoit in '07).
According to Brock Lesnar in Power Slam issue 162, he and Bill Goldberg did not want to be there performing in front of the fans. This was both their last matches with the company and resulted in fans ripping into Lesnar with chants such as 'You sold out' and 'Na, Na, Na, hey hey good bye'.
The match between Sable & Torrie Wilson against Stacy Keibler & Miss Jackie was billed as an evening gown match but was changed at the last minute to a normal rules Lingerie match because Sable had problems with her back.
Trish Stratus became a villain when she slapped Chris Jericho in the face here. She had become a fan favorite exactly three years ago when she slapped Vince McMahon (also a former lover) in the face at WrestleMania X-Seven.
Garrison Cade, Mark Jindrak, Rene Dupree, Rob Conway, Stacey Kiebler, Último Dragón, Shannon Moore, Jamie Noble, Nunzio, Billy Kidman, Tajiri, Akio, The Basham Brothers, and Molly Holly's only WrestleMania Match.
Paul Bearer, who last was seen at Wrestlemania 2000, managing Kane. Would make his final appearance. He would later be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame at Wrestlemania 30.....shortly after he passed away in March 2013.
The Chris Benoit/HHH/Shawn Michaels match is the last match on the card and for a while WWE did say that was the main event, however following the Chris Benoit double murder/suicide, the WWE billed the second to last match on the card, the Undertaker/Kane match, as the main event/
At the beginning, in the opening promo video. Vince is shown walking around while a vinegette of past wrestlemanias play. At the end, the camera pans out showing both Vince and Shane holding Shane's month old baby boy. As of Wrestlemania 32, Shane's kids are the only grandchildren to appear on WWE tv. Although, Stephanie's pregnancies have been involved in storyline .
Months leading up to the event Vince McMahon was reportedly back and forth on the overall tone for the event, between having the show honoring the past 20 years or focusing on the future of the WWE. The show ended up being more focused on the wrestlers of today and the future, where Vince famously coined in a promotional commercial, "Where it all begins...again!"
Both Molly Holly and Victoria have stated in an interview in 2019 that the barber standing on the ramp with the barber chair in their Hair match is in fact Vince McMahon's real life barber and supplied the chair and barber tools.
