Did You Know?

The building shown as Castle Lecter in Lithuania is in fact in Belgium. Chateau de Noisy, originally named Chateau Miranda, was completed in 1866 and demolished in 2017. See more »

Aukstaitija is a real region in Lithuania. There are no such rocky hills though the name suggests it should be hilly ("aukstas" means "high" in Lithuanian), and there are no Châteauesque castles, too. The Lecter manor (Lecter dvaras) portrayed in the episode is no way near Aukstaitija or Lithuania in general. Furthermore, there is a tombstone in the shape of a Celtic cross in the graveyard by the manor where we see the grave of Mischa Lecter (it appears on the left side of the screen for a moment) - there are no such Celtic-related relicts in whole country. Will Graham: You're keeping him like an animal.
Chiyo: I wouldn't do this to an animal.

And it keeps getting worse
21 June 2015 | by randymcbeastSee all my reviews

The third episode of the season and there are no signs of this series returning to it's former glory. The ratings have hit an all-time low and it's just such a shame. In fact, a repeat episode of Elementary had double the viewers of Hannibal this week, and with very good reason.

Once again, this was like watching a really bad student film. There wasn't one redeemable scene this week. Every line in these episodes, and I mean every line, is spoken as if it's the most dramatic, brilliant and most important line every spoken (especially from Gillian Anderson). Such pretentious dung and completely unrealistic dialogue. The soundtrack is also unbearable and such an annoying distraction, and the slow motion effects and ridiculous scene transitions are nauseating.

Everybody associated with this series, except for the actors, should be tossed on a pile of poop. Actually, Gillian Anderson should be tossed on there as well. Her horrible overacting has reached new lows. Barf! She's just awful.

The biggest shame of all of this is that with the proper direction and editing, and tweaks to the writing so it actually sounds like something that would be said by humans, this could be brilliant. Unfortunately, they continue to be too full of themselves so it's not looking too promising. I am just one more bad episode from dumping this one. Although, given the ratings death spiral, the network might do the honors for me.
