Sex & Nudity

  • No sex shown. Nudity includes: some gay male Cheerleaders, show partial butt nudity when they do their routine cheers. A scene of implied kissing between two men prisoners, behind a screen (you see their shadows only). The rest is only mild sexual references.
  • We see a video of a man being approached by another man, one puts lipstick on the other, they kiss, they go behind a screen, and we see their silhouettes as they hug and kiss.
  • We see a video of a man posing in jockey shorts for an older woman: she is then seen in her undergarments (non-revealing - a girdle, garter belt and stockings), the man swats her on the buttocks with a book, and they run around.
  • Several male cheerleaders wear skirts that when they do cartwheels you can see most of their butts because they are wearing thongs.
  • There are several nude men in a locker room, but we don't see private parts. Some comments about a man's endowment.
  • An older woman looks at a magazine photograph of a man in jockey shorts and makes a suggestive comment ("Oh, what I could do to you.").
  • A prisoner says that "they (gay men) don't look so good now but wait 6 months from now and they will look like Beyoncé."
  • A man makes a remark about there being "less sodomy" in politics than in prison.
  • A man tells another man that, "you had sex with my wife before we got married."
  • A man prays and vows to ."..stop cheating on my wife with black guys."
  • An inmate cheers and says "group hug in the showers tonight."
  • A gay man makes suggestive remarks about another man ("I think I'm in love," he asks a woman where her "sexy boy toy" is, etc.).
  • A man tosses a large athletic supporter to a man and makes reference to the size of his genitals.

Violence & Gore

  • There is a basketball scene in which the main character is thrown around, pushed, and even punched. By the end he has some blood dripping from his mouth, and his shirt has a few bloodstains on it.
  • A scene in a beginning where the main character is drunk and is driving and gets hit by several cop cars. But, he is ok.
  • We see prisoners (mainly Crewe) getting punched, kicked, and beaten with batons.
  • A character is shown repeatedly bashing his head on a concrete wall. He is seen bleeding from the forehead, but the dark lighting makes it difficult to notice.
  • A mans nose is broken and the main character pushes it back to place and we hear crunches (in a comic fashion)

Profanity

  • The most profane PG13 movie in a while. Closing in around 150 profanities throughout.
  • A white prison guard calls a black inmate the N word.
  • 1 use of "fuck", 53 uses of "shit" (11 used as "bullshit"), 21 uses of "hell", 33 uses of "ass" (4 used as "asshole"), 4 uses of "bastard", 13 uses of "bitch", 3 uses of "son of a bitch", 5 uses of "goddamn", 16 uses of "damn".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some scenes of drinking alcohol. A character claims he can "hook you up" with drugs, naming the ones he is able to supply. Some scenes of people smoking, not very noticeable though. crack, weed, etc.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Younger kids may find Turley to be scary, when he's in his cell with a dark lighting, and then he screams at Crewe.
