Storyline

dead cool is the story of modern family relationships, as seen through the eyes of 15 year-old David. Six years after his dad dies in a car crash, David's mum moves in with the new man in her life. As the two families come together - complete with teenage step brothers and sisters, a crushingly acerbic granny and one feisty, American self-help guru ex-wife - David has fantasies of his father's ghost returning to disrupt the new step-family and test its survival. This movie is simply bad.
30 August 2009 | by Dimak666See all my reviews

I still can't understand why this movie got an average of 7.4. Did I miss something while watching it? To me it seemed like another low budget, wannabe "dramedy" with terrible acting and terrible plot. Don't trust the scores, don't watch, it's mediocre at best! The story seemed "ok" at first, but then it just became stale, boring and led nowhere. The movie had potential, it touched a sensitive subject and had a pretty interesting idea about a ghost father etc... But it didn't lead nowhere, David Cohen simply blew it! I was expecting an exciting comedy where the diseased father tries to stop his ex-wife from marrying another man, but that's not what I got at all. All it was is just a boring drama that wasn't even all that sad, not even a bit! Seriously, do yourself a favor, don't even consider watching it...
