Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn Plan to Crash Real Weddings to Inspire Wedding Crashers 2

Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn Plan to Crash Real Weddings to Inspire Wedding Crashers 2
Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn just might become real-life Wedding Crashers if it helps finally get the sequel made. Released in 2005, Wedding Crashers is one of the most popular movies of both Wilson and Vaughn's respective careers, starring the pair as divorce mediators who crash weddings hoping to meet women. For years, there has been talk of a sequel happening, but the project just can't seem to get off the ground.

In a new interview with Esquire's "Explain This" video series, Wilson took a moment to revisit Wedding Crashers. He was asked about the possibility of Wedding Crashers 2, and as the actor explains, he'd be up for returning alongside Vaughn if enough fans are out there calling for it to happen. Wilson also says he's been talking to Vaughn about actually crashing weddings after the pandemic, which could help provide some inspiration for the potential sequel. From the

Gay Best Friend: Todd Cleary (Keir O'Donnell) in "Wedding Crashers" (2005)

Gay Best Friend: Todd Cleary (Keir O'Donnell) in
A series by Christopher James looking at the 'Gay Best Friend' trope

Was Todd (Keir O'Donnell) the earliest inspiration for Gru from "Despicable Me?"I don’t love to complain. Most of the times I write this column to understand how gay representation in mainstream film has changed and evolved over the decades. Each shortcoming could be seen as another toe that LGBTQ+ characters stuck through the door of mainstream society. However, not all representations are good. Especially in the late 90s and early/mid 2000s, male focused comedies used gay characters as particularly malicious punchlines. As cartoonish as these characterizations are, they did paint a horrifying portrait of gay life to straight people. To gay people, these characters also served as a vision of what straight America hated about them.

My dark confession is that I love Adam Sandler comedies. They remind me of being an immature teenager and

A Wedding Crashers 2 is Happening at HBO Max

A Wedding Crashers 2 is Happening at HBO Max
It still remains a big question as to why anyone would think that a sequel to Wedding Crashers would be a great idea unless those in charge were willing to break up the happy couples that were seen driving away in the first movie. It sounds as though Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn have been trying to make this sequel happen for a while only to be stymied by the idea that it wasn’t really necessary. Years later it would appear that it’s become necessary and that the idea might have even evolved to have the two leading characters become

New Loki Featurette Welcomes Owen Wilson Into the MCU

New Loki Featurette Welcomes Owen Wilson Into the MCU
Shortly ahead of the premiere of Loki, Owen Wilson's debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was teased in a sneak peek video promoting the show. With great anticipation from Marvel fans, Loki makes its world premiere this week, exclusively on Disney+. It will see the return of MCU fan favorite Tom Hiddleston to reprise his role as the God of Mischief, but as you can see in the video below, Loki will be simultaneously marking the first MCU project for Wilson.

"This is the first time for me in the Marvel Universe. They first spoke to me about Iron Man, and Captain America, and even Hulk. I was like, 'Well, you know, I don't know.' I'm just kidding," Owen Wilson says in the video with a laugh. He also spoke about what it was like to work with co-star Tom Hiddleston, who went through great lengths to ensure

‘Loki’ Star Owen Wilson on Joining the MCU, Explaining Time Travel and Loving His Grey Hair

Prior to Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” not only had Owen Wilson never been in a superhero project before, but he’d barely ever done television: Just a two-part episode of IFC’s “Documentary Now,” a segment of Comedy Central’s “Drunk History,” and an uncredited cameo on “Community.”

“Loki,” however, is uncharted territory for the star of “The Royal Tenenbaums,” “Wedding Crashers” and the voice of Pixar’s Lightning McQueen. He plays Mobius, an agent within a sprawling entity know as the Time Variance Authority, an inter-dimensional bureaucracy tasked with the awesome — and formidable — responsibility of maintaining a single, sacred timeline and pruning away all “variants” that could lead to the multiverse. When Tom Hiddleston’s Loki used the Tesseract to escape from the events of 2012’s “The Avengers” — from within the events of 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame” — the god of mischief became such a variant, and draws the interest of Mobius and the Tva.

Owen Wilson Sets the Record Straight on Wedding Crashers Sequel Rumors
It looks like we'll have to hold onto our champagne toasts just a little longer. Owen Wilson on ‘Wedding Crashers’ Sequel: ‘It’s Figuring Out if We Could Do Something Worthwhile’

It seems Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn aren’t quite ready to renew their vows.

Despite several reports that Wilson, Vaughn, Isla Fisher and Rachel McAdams are all on board to make a sequel to the 2005 hit comedy “Wedding Crashers” for HBO Max and will start up production this summer, Wilson tells Variety that progress on a sequel is still very much in the early planning stages.

“Some people are saying that you guys are going to be going in August, and that’s not right,” Wilson told Variety in an interview about his upcoming Marvel Studios series “Loki” for Disney Plus.

Instead, Wilson says that director David Dobkin “has been working on something,” and that he has been “talking with Vince” — but progress on the project has not progressed much farther than that.

This is far from the first time there’s been talk of a “Wedding Crashers” sequel.

HBO Max New Releases: June 2021

HBO Max New Releases: June 2021
TV had the run of the place for awhile there during the pandemic. But now that vaccinations are speeding up and the weather is warming, it’s film’s time to shine. At least that’s the conclusion that can be drawn from HBO Max’s list of new releases for June 2021.

There are no real original TV series of note coming this month, which is highly unusual for HBO and HBO Max. In their place, however, are some really impressive film offerings. Major Warner Bros. titles like The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (June 4) and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights (June 11) both arrive this month. So too do some interesting documentaries like Revolutionary Rent on June 15 and Lfg on June 24. The former deals with the staging of the musical Rent in Cuba and the latter follows the U.S. women’s soccer team’s fight for equal pay.
