When deciding where to set the next C.S.I., Anthony E. Zuiker
had three cities at the top of his list: Chicago, New Orleans, and New York City. He quickly chose New York City after he remembered the effect 9/11 had on the city. There are references to both Chicago and New Orleans as Mac Taylor is from Chicago, and Stella Bonasera leaves for the New Orleans C.S.I. lab. If New Orleans had been chosen, then the lead C.S.I.s loved one would have died in Hurricane Katrina and not 9/11. See more
"The CSI Effect": On many occasions, when arresting a suspect, Taylor's team is able to extract a confession, but the Miranda rights are never read to the suspect, which can and will be used to render the confession unusable in a court of law. See more
