Sex & Nudity

  • Some elves wear slightly revealing garments.

Violence & Gore

  • Several situations of violence involving various demons and creatures throughout the game. Some of the levels involve continuous battles and fighting.
  • Some of the cutscenes depict violence and battles.

Profanity

  • Various mild insults. But no profanity.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In the book, the hobbits are seen smoking their tobacco pipes. However in the game, the tobacco pipes that was talked about is absent, this could be due to the ESRB rating being rated E or that depiction of smoking in kid friendly games is not acceptable.
  • It is implied that the dwarfs are at a pub, but no actual drinking is seen.
  • Early in the game, Bilbo is stealing berries from a crop. The farmer who owns the crop appears to be drunk.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The goblins and trolls may disturb younger children.
  • There are a few instances in the game where Bilbo is lost in dark areas where creatures unexpectedly appear.
  • In one of the levels, Bilbo is lost in the woods and the main enemies are spiders, some of which are huge. At the end of the level, Bilbo faces a huge swarm of them. There are also creepy demonic human-like beings in the level.
