How to marry a prime minister,a fat lot of help that is!
A cursory look at Michel Boisron's filmography and you know what you are going to watch:it's pure commercial stuff ,sometimes entertaining ("Le Chemin Des Ecoliers").Always jumping on the bandwagon,he made a "yeah yeah" movie ("Cherchez L'Idole" ),a spy thriller in the wake of James Bond ("Atout Coeur A Tokyo Pour OSS 117"),a fairy tale after Demy's "Peau D' Ane " ("Le Petit Poucet),and so on....

"Comment Epouser Un Premier Ministre " has two good leads,Brialy and Pascale Petit .The former plays an attaché ,"working" for a minister;he is also a lady killer, sleeping with all the wives around. One fine day ,an usherette finds a compromising letter and blackmails him in her very special way;she does not want any money, she demands parks and a swimming pool for the suburban high- rise state where she lives with her odd family:her dad grows plants in the apartment. It could have been an effective social satire with a contemporary feel:once they are elected ,the ministers do not care about the people .If the story lampoons an unfair society,it does it cowardly ,in a very bourgeois way ;apart from the girl's family, the characters are all wealthy ,more preoccupied by their daughter's money match or their bright prospects than their fellow men's future. The final scene, complete with popularity-seeking speech ,is almost unbearable.

You can watch this,if you want to learn how to get rid of a pain in the neck on the phone.
