We see a lot of arguments on this site about queerbaiting in television shows (most frequently with shows with out creators). But is it a problem? Twenty years ago, we were thrilled by subtext. Now we expect more – and we should. But how do you solve a problem as old as television itself?

As expected, Monsters University dominated the box office. But The Heat took in $40 million, while the big budget White House Down disappointed with only $26 million. Does this mean that we need to stop blowing everything up and maybe try and laugh every once in a while?

Our members might be predominantly gay and bisexual men, but we do have a surprising number of female readers here at AfterElton.com. We value you ladies and feel bad that every year we have to ask you to sit out the Hot 100 voting (for that list we wanted a fair representation of whom gay and bi men find attractive).
