JP – Operation Genesis is a construction and management simulation game, with a tiny strategic elements, and without any doubt one of those, really contagious game. If you enjoyed other "build it, control it"games, you're gonna love this. It's not hard to play, not at all, you have tutorial practice, side missions and main game. It pretty goes like this, you build a park that contains security, dino hatchery, feeding stations, kiosks, souvenir shops, restrooms, safe centers, entertainment rides and other things
but most important – dinosaurs, behind giant electric fences, of course. After few first important buildings, you put dinosaurs and open the gates of the park, and the show is on. Now, through the game you get messages from such characters from the first JP film, Dr. Grant, Dr. Settler, Hammond, Dr. Arnold, Robert Muldon, Dr. Wu and some other characters (their faces were taken from the films, but they were voiced by other actors), everyone except Dr. Ian Malcolm
too bad
I really wanted to hear Malcolm talks in real "Goldbluming" manner, you know something like "Nononono
freeze your hand, freeze your hand, move your finger, move your finger, double click on revive
now thedinosaurwillbeallbetter, BUT
three other died behind you
you know
uh, life finds a way
" that kind of thing. Now, when you have all of your important stuff and bunch of visitors, you'll be informed about your ratings, after you have one complete star, you can unlock digging sites, where you can dig out some bigger, more popular dinosaurs, and present them in the park. The graphics are good, AI is good, gameplay is easy, music score is cool, derived from John Williams score and other things are pretty good. Now, the bad, or the irritating stuff are the constant, intense situations, when you have messages from Dr. Settler that some dinosaur died, or some dinosaur needs an adrenalin shot, or a vaccine for some disease
that's irritating, also, when some carnivore dinosaur goes berserk and start killing people in the car during a safari
but when tornado comes, everything goes bat-sh*t
especially Dr. Arnold who informs you that the half a park needs repairs. Overall, the game is really cool, it really makes you wanna play it, and play it
there's a great creative element to it. I recommend it.
