Storyline

In this sitcom, the suddenly risen film star Vince Chase, a 'jeune premiere' of humble origins, learns the ropes of the business and the high-profile world of the wealthy happy few in and around Hollywood, but not alone: he brings from his native New York his atypical 'entourage (hence the title), not glitterati or professionals but a close circle of friends since childhood, and his professional agent finds they often make his job harder as the Queens boys not only sponge on the star but also have his ear, so Vince is much harder to counsel. Vince chooses his friend from home Eric as his manager, and LA professional Ari Gold as his agent. Over the course of the Series, they progress from kids from Queens, to actors, to producers and chase the funding and support to try to make the perfect movie for Vincent. Written by KGF Vissers

Trivia

"Medellin", and its bad reception by critics and audiences has a lot of similarities to Southland Tales (2006). Both movies were big projects directed by directors (Billy Walsh and Richard Kelly), who had a huge success with an indie-flick (Queens Boulevard and Donnie Darko (2001)) that had huge fanbases. Both movies were first screened at Cannes, and a huge buzz was created about them. After they were screened, they both received bad reviews (Southland Tales (2006) scored the lowest reviews for the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, averaging 1.1 out of 5) and bad audience reaction. Additionally, Southland Tales (2006) went straight-to-DVD in many countries, just like "Medellin". See more »

Quotes

Ari Gold: In this envelope, there are the names of eight agents. If anyone catches you, eat it. Nod if you understand me.
Lloyd: I understand.
Ari Gold: You can't just fucking nod? Lloyd, I want you to... to swear your undying loyalty to me.
Lloyd: Ari...
Ari Gold: Listen to me, Lloyd. Do you want to make it in this business or fold shirts at a Chinese laundromat? Pledge.
Lloyd: I pledge my undying loyalty to you, Ari.
Ari Gold: Good. Now, I want you to go to each of these agents discreetly and say the words "tsetse fly". Say nothing else. Now go.
Lloyd: Ari, are you ...

The best show on TV, cable anyway.
7 July 2005 | by Maw7391See all my reviews

This show is absolutely hilarious. The thing that makes the dialogue so great is that it is what a lot of people in the early 20's use. Whomever writes the screenplay for this show ought to win an award. So many movies and TV shows lack what I call "everyday people language". Too many TV shows and Movies have stupid one liners and overall dialogue that just isn't what "real" people say. Its refreshing to watch a show that nails it perfectly. I would pay to see an "Entourage" movie easily. Jermey Piven as "Ari" is incredible. He is exactly what I picture a Hollywood agent to be. He deserves some sort of award for his role. The only thing I hate about the whole show is that it is only a half an hour long and only on once a week. I hope this show goes on for years. The Billy Walsh character is interesting with all of his quirks and superstitions.
