Storyline

In this sitcom, the suddenly risen film star Vince Chase, a 'jeune premier' of humble origins, learns the ropes of the business and the high-profile world of the wealthy happy few in and around Hollywood, but not alone: he brings from his native New York his atypical 'entourage (hence the title), not glitterati or professionals but a close circle of friends since childhood, and his professional agent finds they often make his job harder as the Queens boys not only sponge on the star but also have his ear, so Vince is much harder to counsel. Vince chooses his friend from home Eric as his manager, and LA professional Ari Gold as his agent. Over the course of the Series, they progress from kids from Queens, to actors, to producers and chase the funding and support to try to make the perfect movie for Vincent. Written by KGF Vissers

Trivia

"Medellin", and its bad reception by critics and audiences has a lot of similarities to Southland Tales (2006). Both movies were big projects directed by directors (Billy Walsh and Richard Kelly), who had a huge success with an indie-flick (Queens Boulevard and Donnie Darko (2001)) that had huge fanbases. Both movies were first screened at Cannes, and a huge buzz was created about them. After they were screened, they both received bad reviews (Southland Tales (2006) scored the lowest reviews for the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, averaging 1.1 out of 5) and bad audience reaction. Additionally, Southland Tales (2006) went straight-to-DVD in many countries, just like "Medellin". See more »

In the opening credit sequence, the shot with Adrian Grenier's name has been flipped. His name appears normal while the lettering of the other signs is backwards. See more »

Quotes

Eric: We had breakup-sex, all right?
Johnny Drama: Breakup-sex? Never heard of it.
Eric: Yeah, I mean... you know... you have sex and... that's it - you say goodbye.
Johnny Drama: [pauses to think] That's the only kinda sex I have.

excellent show
27 January 2005 | by See all my reviews

this show is the real deal and i enjoy very much. so i don't know what all you other people are talking about. its not cliché.. its a straight up entertaining well written show! so enjoy. stop hating..everyone cast in the show are good actors and new yorkers!! so that counts for something too. everyone i knew liked that show and thought it was one of the funniest shows. Ari's character was hysterical and non stop humor. Vince chase was laid back and cool. turtle was a little fat pimp who was funnier than anybody. Matt Dillon's little brother is so funny. The whole story and concept of the show seems very realistic to me and very enjoyable.
