Halsey is celebrating the upcoming arrival of their first child in a wild way. On June 1, the 26-year-old singer took to Instagram Stories to share a series of snapshots from their baby shower. The theme of the event appeared to be based on the 1963 children's book Where the Wild Things Are. Halsey posted a picture of the book along with several Polaroid prints from the gathering. In addition, guests posed for photos using props from the story. The party was held outside among the palm trees and attendees decorated bibs for Halsey and screenwriter Alev Aydin's little one. A Tribute To Spike Jonze: Versatility and Voice

A Tribute To Spike Jonze: Versatility and Voice
Video Version of this Article Photo/Video: Spike Jonze/Hollywood Insider YouTube Channel “If you compromise what you're trying to do just a little bit, you'll end up compromising a little more the next day or the next week, and when you lift your head you're suddenly really far away from where you're trying to go.” -Spike Jonze Probably best known for his films ‘Her’ or ‘Where the Wild Things Are’, Spike Jonze has maintained a versatile voice from the budding stages of his career. Though these films were great, they only breach the surface of a dynamic history of creativity on Spike’s part. From stop motion shorts, commercials, music videos, documentaries, feature films, and even a dash of the theatre, Spike Jonze has proven himself as an ambidextrous artist, tackling work on all sides of the camera. ‘Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry’ Review: A Very Good Documentary Hang-Out Movie

‘Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry’ Review: A Very Good Documentary Hang-Out Movie
Billie Eilish hasn’t been famous for very long, but when you see her in “Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry,” R.J. Cutler’s two-hour-and-20-minute but never boring documentary hang-out movie, you see why she’s already the quintessential pop star of the 21st century.

The film, which shows you more or less everything you want to know about Billie Eilish (it drops on Feb. 26 on Apple TV Plus), might be described as fan service of a high order. Since I’m a fan, though, I’d put it differently. I’d call it a deftly sincere and canny portrait, one that works precisely because it takes the time to sweat the small stuff: Billie hanging out at home with her parents, who are eager and supportive and very cool; Billie flashing her dimples and having fun like the precocious teenager she is; Billie passing her driving test and getting her dream car,

Watch: Lulu Wang's iPhone-Shot Chinese New Year Short Film 'Nian'

Watch: Lulu Wang's iPhone-Shot Chinese New Year Short Film 'Nian'
"She's curious, that's all... And the forest is a magical place." While developing her next projects, Chinese-American filmmaker Lulu Wang (director of The Farewell) has partnered with Apple to create a new short film shot entirely on the iPhone. Titled Nian, the film was made on the iPhone 12 Pro Max by Apple. Wang could not travel, so she directed it while a crew in China filmed. A Chinese New Year legend reimagined as a contemporary coming-of-age story. Nian tells the story of a brave young girl’s determination to find — and confront — the widely feared Nian beast. When she comes face to face with him, she discovers that Nian is not at all terrifying and the two strike up a beautiful friendship. It's kinda a Chinese take on Where the Wild Things Are, with some nods to My Neighbor Totoro (and Okja). With an original score by Alex Weston. For

Animation Legend Glen Keane Is ‘Over the Moon’ About His First Feature Directing Project

Animation Legend Glen Keane Is ‘Over the Moon’ About His First Feature Directing Project
Oscar-winning animator and Scad Savannah Film Festival honoree Glen Keane knew he wanted to be an artist from a young age. The evidence is right there in the archives of his father Bil Keane’s daily newspaper comic, “The Family Circus.”

You see, Glen served as an inspiration for 7-year-old Billy, who would, from time to time, step in to scribble a few installments of the beloved single-panel strip. In reality, those crudely drawn “guest” entries were daddy’s invention, although it’s true that Glen displayed an early interest in art, and the encouragement from both parents set him on the course that would make him responsible for some of the best-loved animated characters of the last half-century.

During his run at Disney, Keane served as supervising animator for Ariel in “The Little Mermaid,” the Beast in “Beauty and the Beast” and the title characters in “Aladdin” and “Tarzan.

Nine Days Trailer Brings a New World View with Zazie Beetz & Winston Duke

Nine Days Trailer Brings a New World View with Zazie Beetz & Winston Duke
We have the first trailer for Nine Days. This comes from Sony Pictures Classics and is currently intended as an early 2021 release. With the state of the movie business being what it is, plans can change in a hurry. That said, this is produced by Spike Jonze and stars Winstone Duke and Zazie Beetz in the leading roles. It is billed as "a heartfelt and meditative vision of human souls in limbo, aching to be born against unimaginable odds, yet hindered by forces beyond their will." Heady as that may sound, it appears to be accurate based on this footage.

The trailer sees a string of people visiting Winston Duke's character Will who is living in a small house out in the middle of nowhere. He appears to be observing people from afar, with various families and individuals populating TVs in his home. He is conducting interviews with candidates

HBO Max New Releases: October 2020

HBO Max New Releases: October 2020
With Lovecraft Country still providing HBO and HBO Max with its horror content through October, the streamer is looking elsewhere for its spooky season offerings. HBO Max’s new releases for October 2020 feature some truly awesome horror library titles.

Jordan Peele’s Us, John Carpenter’s The Thing, and David Fincher’s Se7en all arrive on Oct. 1. That alone should be enough to last you through spooky season. And if it doesn’t, It: Chapter Two is right there as well. October is also a big month for Batman and Superman with Man of Steel arriving on Oct. 1 along with a whole of animated specials dropping that same day.

In relation to the library titles, this isn’t HBO Max’s strongest month from an original perspective. But there is still plenty to like here. The West Wing election special arrives on Oct. 15. That will be followed by David Byrne

‘Dukes of Hazzard’ Stars Defend Show’s Confederate Flag Use: ‘The Car Is Innocent’
The original stars of CBS’s popular series “Dukes of Hazzard” are speaking their mind about the recently renewed criticism of the show’s use of the Confederate flag.

John Schneider and Tom Wopat, who played Bo and Luke Duke in the series which ran from 1979 to 1985, addressed the controversial symbol of the Confederacy that is painted atop the show’s famous car, a Dodge Charger nicknamed the General Lee.

“I have never had an African American come up to me and have any problem with it whatsoever,” Schneider, 60, said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “The whole politically correct generation has gotten way out of hand.”

Amazon Prime Video New Releases: June 2020

Amazon Prime Video New Releases: June 2020
Amazon Prime’s new releases in June 2020 is fairly lacking in original material. That’s to be expected for a streaming service that focuses on quality over quantity to begin with now going through a pandemic content crunch.

Standup special Gina Brillon: The Floor Is Lava, Joseph Gordon-Levitt film 7500, and Pete the Cat season 2 are the only originals arriving this month. And that’s fine as Amazon is about to be home to one of 2019’s most fun films. That’s right – Knives Out makes its debut on June 12. It might be awhile before we get to see the next Benoit Blanc mystery so hopefully this will tide us over.

June 1 also sees the arrival of Dirty Dancing, Kingpin, and the tragically underrated Sex Drive. It’s not the most impressive month Amazon has ever had, but at least you still get free shipping.
