Storyline

Nobody believes a liar - even when they're telling the truth. When a young woman is found murdered, a group of local high school students decide to further scare their classmates by spreading online rumors that a serial killer called "The Wolf" is on the loose. By describing "The Wolf's" next victims, the students' game is to see how many people they can convince - and if anyone will uncover the lie. But when the described victims actually do start turning up dead, suddenly no one knows where the lies end and the truth begins. As someone or something begins hunting the students themselves, the game turns terrifyingly real. Written by focus features

Trivia

During the rehearsals for the lying game, the cast had to stay in character. If they ever said their own names by mistake, Jeff Wadlow would kick them out the room. See more »

Goofs

(at around 26 mins) When Owen types on the computer for the first time (using instant messenger), at one point he types "Ooh, I'm scared". But when he sends the message through, it now reads "Oooh, I'm scared" (three "o"s instead of two). See more »

Good story with a great twist
25 August 2004 | by luhaSee all my reviews

I just came back from a screening for 'Cry Wolf.' I must say, at first I thought it was pretty predictable, but then it takes a cool twist that made me stop and think. Great re-telling of the fabled story of the "Boy Who Cried Wolf," this story has a fantastic set of characters headed by Julian Morris, great performance by Lindy Booth, and followed out with good supporting characters played by Bon Jovi, Jared Padalecki, the beautiful Sandra McCoy, and several others. Without giving anything away, I'd recommend anyone who likes good guessing-thrillers and fun jumpy scenes, to go see this movie . . . when it comes out, of course. Good story, good settings, great music.
