The voice of Zaza the cockroach is done by Owen Schumacher. It closely resembles the voice of Schumacher's imitation of then Dutch prime minister Jan Peter Balkenende. Schumacher regularly performed the character of Balkenende in Kopspijkers and Koefnoen (2004).

Goofs
Mr. Pen holds a sign that reads "Redt de torteltuin" ("Save the Pigeon Park"). Although in the first half of the 20th century "redt" was still the correct way to spell the plural imperative of the verb "redden" ("to save"), nowadays the correct spelling of the sentence on the sign would be "Red de torteltuin").

It's not so bad

This film is a lot better than the previous reviewer suggests. It definitely has too many characters but the story is good and only at the end did I get distracted. It's a delight to see the well known actors and non-actors (like the politician Erica Terpstra, who is a surprisingly good actress) put in an appearance. I am one of the very few Dutch people who have never read the book, and I have to say I enjoyed it very much. Maybe more than people who know the book, because of the old problem that 'the book was better'. I simply saw a quite amusing film. As Annie MG Schmidt films go, 'Minoes' (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0279231/) is much better though. It has the same ingredients but a better rendition for the big screen.
