Throughout the movie, its directorial tone continually switches between a serious independent movie, an extended episode of the original series, and a blatantly crude and knowingly comedic spoof sending up the original series. If it had stuck to one of these tones, then the film may have been more successful. See more »
When Daisy is wearing the brown wig disguise in the police station, Enos walks past her to talk to Billy, and you can see her laughing in one shot, then totally serious in the next. See more »

In Hazzard County, the cousins Bo Duke (Seann William Scott) and Luke Duke (Johnny Knoxville) find that the corrupt Boss Hogg (Burt Reynolds) is plotting the destruction of the location, intending to transform the lands in a huge coal mine. Hogg diverts the dwellers with a rally to hide the judgment of his plea in court. Bo and Luke, assisted by their delicious cousin Daisy (Jessica Simpson), Bo's car General Lee and their Uncle Jesse (Willie Nelson), fight to save the town from the claws of Boss Hogg and the also corrupt Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane (M.C. Gainey) and their men.
I have never seen the proclaimed original "Dukes of Hazzard" TV show; therefore I saw this movie without any previous reference for comparison. The story, of course, is very silly, what else could I expect from a cast with Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott? But I laughed a lot with the impressive performance of the stunts in the cars chases that recall "The Blue Brothers"; all the cast women and the sorority girls are very sexy, highlighting Jessica Simpson; Burt Reynolds is hilarious playing the evil and caricatured villain Boss Hogg, last but not the least, the soundtrack is excellent. Therefore, I spent 106 minutes having lots of fun and I really liked this flick. In the Extras of the DVD, Jessica Simpson sings "These Boots Are Made For Walkin' " in an absolutely sexy video clip. My vote is six.
