Storyline

Through the influence of his friend and subsequent son-in-law, Congressman Nolan, Lyman Granite, a storekeeper in the rural village of Calton, is appointed to the office of postmaster. The appointment is viewed with much disfavor by a rival storekeeper, one Tobias Brady, popularly known as "Toby." All goes well with the new postmaster until the coming of the Parcel Post. This great public boon promises to ruin the postmaster. Never becomes extremely funny
24 June 2019 | by deickemeyerSee all my reviews

An eccentric comedy number with Ernest Shield playing the part ot a grocer in a small town. He defeats his rival in a race for the post-office, but regrets this after the parcel post comes in. The photography is good and while this never becomes extremely funny, it contains a good deal of amusement. - The Moving Picture World, January 2, 1915
