Early reports claimed the story was about humans who tried to lure Predators with Alien eggs, although the idea was scrapped. See more »
(at around 11 mins) Graeme Miller's description of the aurorae as being caused by protons and electrons in the atmosphere is inaccurate. Aurorae are caused by the interaction of high energy particles (usually electrons) with neutral atoms (oxygen, nitrogen...) in Earth's upper atmosphere. However, as a chemical engineer, his knowledge of atmospheric photochemistry may be expected to be somewhat rusty. See more »
Since the film has no opening credits, the end credits begin with an extended primary credits sequence. This sequence is shown over close-ups of various aspects of the Predator pyramid interior. See more »
The original DVD had an additional deleted sequence: It shows a whaling station in 1904, and a whaler is being chased. He enters a building and tries to hide. As the camera cuts to the "Predator vision" though, it is clear that the hunter is chasing an Alien in the same room, which lunges at the camera. This sequence is approx. 1 min. 30 sec. in duration and now included in the 'Unrated Edition'. See more »
Reading some of the harsh reviews I thought I would comment. The big disappointment for me in the movie was the lack of gore , fox did get it wrong to make it a pg13 even though they tried to substitute it with monster gore. All that being said this movie is a visual master-peace, the effects are top notch with very good fight scenes and creature effects with the best looking Alien Queen to hit the screens, The story is pretty cool and it gives more insight of the Predators, It takes a while for the introduction of the creatures but once the ball is rolling its none stop action. Not the horror feast we all wanted but fun.
