Trump Is Finally Meeting with Potential ‘New Best Friend’ Vladimir Putin: Their Relationship History in 10 Quotes

Trump Is Finally Meeting with Potential ‘New Best Friend’ Vladimir Putin: Their Relationship History in 10 Quotes
President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will have their first official meeting on Friday afternoon at the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany.

It’s unclear if the two have ever met in person, mainly due to Trump’s contradictory statements over the years about the nature of his relationship with Putin.

The White House said that the leaders’ face-to-face on Friday “will be a normal bilateral meeting,” as opposed to a “pull-aside” like the one former President Obama had with Putin at last year’s conference.

Tensions between the two countries are high as the U.S. maintains

TV Ratings: Miss Universe Dips — But Still Tops a Football-Free Sunday

Miss Universe remains a thing. And, without any football to contend with, the pageant managed to score a demo victory for Fox on Sunday night.

The primetime telecast of 65th Miss Universe Pageant — the subject of seemingly evergreen controversy thanks to host mix-ups and its status as a former Donald Trump production — aired to a relatively quiet crowd of a 1.5 rating among adults 18-49 and 5.2 million viewers. That was down, by both measures, from the last go — which aired just before the holidays in 2015.

But down or not, it was broadcast's top...

Does Donald Trump Still Own the Miss Universe Pageant?
With Miss Universe airing Sunday night amid news coverage of protests against President Donald Trump‘s entry ban on refugees and citizens of seven Muslim-majority nations, many are wondering if he is still connected to the international pageant.

Trump sold the Miss Universe Organization, which includes Miss USA and Miss Teen USA, in September of 2015. Talent agency and entertainment company Wme/Img bought the organization, but the financial details were not disclosed, according to Variety.

The deal came just days after Trump announced on Twitter that he had bought out NBC’s 51 percent share of the beauty pageant organization, which

‘The Apprentice’: 9 Lessons About Donald Trump From Binge-Watching the First Season

‘The Apprentice’: 9 Lessons About Donald Trump From Binge-Watching the First Season
Donald Trump’s entrance earlier this week at the Republican National Convention — buttressed by strobe lights, fog and a soundtrack (Queen’s “We Are the Champions”) — may have raised some eyebrows. But not for loyal viewers of “The Apprentice.” That’s how the Donald has rolled ever since becoming a breakout TV star in 2004. Just take an episode from the first season, during a challenge set at the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City. Donald swoops in like Bruce Wayne via his own Trump-branded helicopter, then strolls through the casino’s lobby, shaking hands with wide-eyed gamblers. “How are you doing everybody?” Trump says, sounding like a political candidate.

In the months leading to Trump’s coronation as the Republican nominee for president, the press has parsed through his old interviews, TV appearances and even chapters from his aspirational tome, “The Art of the Deal.” But what about the most telling document about what makes Donald run

WME: We’re Not Doing Trump’s Convention Film

WME: We’re Not Doing Trump’s Convention Film
A spokesman for WME Entertainment said that the agency had no plans to work on a film for the Republican National Convention, after Donald Trump suggested in an interview that agency chieftan Ari Emanuel had offered to take charge of the project.

Trump is a former agency client and talks to Emanuel, the spokesman said. Wme/Img also purchased the Miss Universe Pageant from the Trump Organization last year.

In an interview with Michael Wolff in the Hollywood Reporter, Trump said that Emanuel was a “very good friend of mine” and that he had offered to take on the convention project.

But Emanuel is a longtime Democrat, and has given to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. His brother, Rahm, is the mayor of Chicago and former chief of staff to President Obama.

It’s fairly typical for presidential nominees to enlist Hollywood figures for their biographical convention films. Davis Guggenheim

‘Miss Universe’ Ratings Ok On Fox With Winner Error, ‘Sunday Night Football’ Matches Season Low

There were winners and losers on Sunday's primetime, and if you were either the Philadelphia Eagles or Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez, last night must have hurt. The former was sacked 40-17 by the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday Night Football, while the latter was mistakenly crowned in the Miss Universe Pageant (1.7/5) — for a couple of minutes anyway. After the legal battles between past Miss Universe Organization owner Donald Trump and NBC and Univision, the Fox debut of…

Sunday Ratings: Football Rules Early, Late; Fox’s ‘Miss Universe’ Ok, But Down From Prior Airing

Sunday Ratings: Football Rules Early, Late; Fox’s ‘Miss Universe’ Ok, But Down From Prior Airing
NFL action dominated primetime on Sunday, with the end of the Denver-Pittsburgh game boosting CBS early and NBC rolling the rest of the way even with a below-average “Sunday Night Football.” Meanwhile, the Miss Universe Pageant did solid numbers for Fox in its first appearance on the network but was down from its most recent edition.

According to preliminary national estimates from Nielsen, Fox’s “Miss Universe Pageant” averaged a 1.7/5 in 18-49 and 6.2 million viewers from 7 to 10 p.m., with these numbers subject to revision in the finals due to late-running NFL games included in the network’s averages for the opening half-hour of primetime. “Miss Universe” was airing on Fox for the first time after a dozen years on NBC, and was down from the prior edition in a higher-profile late-January slot earlier this year (2.0/6 in 18-49, 7.7 million viewers overall from 8 to 11 p.m.).

Donald Trump Gloats Miss Universe Debacle Wouldn’t Happen Under His Watch
Donald Trump gloated on Monday that the Miss Universe debacle that saw the wrong beauty crowned as the winner on Sunday would’ve never happened if he was still running the contest. “Very sad what happened last night at the Miss Universe Pageant. I sold it 6 months ago for a record price. This would never have happened!” the Gop frontrunner tweeted. On the “Today” show on Monday, the Donald proposed making winner Miss Philippines and runner up Miss Colombia, who was mistakenly named winner, co-winners. Steve Harvey Crowns the Wrong Winner at Miss Universe

Steve Harvey Crowns the Wrong Winner at Miss Universe
Updated with responses from Donald Trump and Img

Steve Harvey has made a mistake — a very big mistake.

During Sunday night’s Miss Universe competition in Las Vegas, the host called out Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the winner of the highly publicized competition. Except Gutierrez wasn’t the winner. Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, was.

“Ok folks,” he said. “I have to apologize. The first runner-up is Colombia.”

Harvey then announced that Wurtzbach was, in fact, the winner, and the camera then panned to the contestant, who looked visibly shocked after seeing Gutierrez’s celebration. The awkward moment was broadcast live on Fox and around the world, as the global pageant is broadly distributed in more than 190 international territories.

“This is exactly what’s on the card,” Harvey said, holding it up, clearly distraught. “I will take responsibility for this. It was my mistake. It was on the card.

Miss Universe Pageant Moving to Fox in December

Miss Universe Pageant Moving to Fox in December
Img and The Miss Universe Organization announced Wednesday that Fox in December will broadcast the Miss Universe pageant, an event that had aired the previous dozen years on NBC. As part of Img’s agreement, the network will also have domestic rights to air Miss USA next year.

Wme/Img acquired the Miss Universe organization from Donald Trump last month, expanding the company’s portfolio of global media events and media properties across entertainment and live events. The sale followed the messy breakup in July of the 12-year partnership between Trump, a candidate for the Gop presidential nomination, and NBC Universal in the beauty pageant business.

Prior to the acquisition, Img had produced a number of pageants for The Miss Universe Organization and will continue to do so with this year’s Miss Universe telecast.

“Miss Universe is a unique, global media property and this partnership with Fox marks a
