22 years after the original Jurassic Park failed, the new park (also known as Jurassic World) is open for business. After years of studying genetics the scientists on the park genetically engineer a new breed of dinosaur. When everything goes horribly wrong, will our heroes make it off the island?
In the Jurassic world storyboard, Mosasaurus was to be depicted with a serpentine body lacking a tail fluke like pre-2014 restorations and had horizontal stripes covering its body which mosasaurs did not have. The mosasaurus involvement in the pterosaur attack was to be different as well. Originally, during the pterosaur attack the monorail that went over the Lagoon was to collapse during the attack, dangling over the mosasaurus habitat. When a Pteranodon trying to kill a passenger desperately hanging on to the rapid transit vehicle, the Mosasaur lunges out of the water pulling the Pteranodon down into the water and the monorail with it. Several pteranodons then proceed to attack the marine reptile in an attempt to save their own. See more »
According to paleontologic consensus, Pterodactyls would be unable to lift human beings - let alone playing throw-and-catch with them mid-air - due to their own light body weight. Secondly, Pterodactyls are thought to have had limited flying ability and glided through the sky with rigidly spread wings rather than flapping them and changing direction at will like a modern bird would. I watched this on an airline flight. After 30 minutes I fell asleep. On the return flight I forced myself to watch the rest. Within 40 minutes of the start of the film I knew who was going to die and who wasn't, how the story was going to resolve (if you can call it that) and the fact that I didn't care about ANY of the characters. I also couldn't name a single one of them. There was more character development in the Flintstones. People did the same stupid things that NO ONE would actually do in real life (yelling when there's a big killer dinosaur looking for them, standing up on high ground etc.) The story was so thin it was probably written on a cocktail napkin. Special effects guys did the usual amazing job, and Pratt tried REALLY hard, but that doesn't make it a good movie. I was grateful when the turbulence hit my plane and the pilot interrupted it. I cannot believe that this utter pile of garbage took in a billion dollars. Please...no more sequels, take the billion and use it for some good, instead of torturing people.
