Arrested Development

With a masterpiece of a first season, it perfected and pioneered a new industry of televised comedy, while simultaneously remaining unsurpassed in all the years of attempts to mimic its success.

It's nearly perfect and never feels like it's trying to hard to be. The concept, music, direction, and cast are all amicable with one another to a point where one can only deify its miracle.

The characters who support this story feel like they couldn't be adequately played by anyone else, and furthermore, as if their actors were born for the role.

It isn't rude or aggressive. It's clever, subtle, and debatably suitable for family viewing, and it's comforting to watch. It takes character struggles that are so zany and far removed from your reality that you you won't be presumptuously bothered to invest yourself and draw comparison, and supplements those with honest, endearing character moments that remind you the characters are human. This show thrives on its own merit, and I get sudden urges to watch it.

I wish I could review individual seasons, because man, this one was disgraced. Count this for season one.
