Storyline

Charlie's War is the story of Charlotte Lewis, a woman who is experiencing serious emotional and mental turmoil brought about by nightmares of increasing intensity. In the dreams, she is a young girl, and she runs from unknown terrors. Trying to understand her troubling dreams, Charlotte revisits part of her childhood, which comes back to her in a series of impressionistic memories. Charlie, her sister, Jobie, and her mother move in with her grandmother. It is 1944, and World War II rages in Europe and the Far East. Though Grandma's farm seems to be a peaceful refuge, there is an undercurrent of fear and brooding menace in their surroundings. Written by Christy Lawrence Viviano

What happened to this Film?
9 June 2005 | by See all my reviews

Can anyone tell me what happened to this film? It had Olympia Dukakis, Lynn Redgrave, and Opra Winfrey's dad. It had a big preview in Nashville where there was a big fuss over the seating arrangements. Then it seems that the movie was never released. What happened? I had a favorite uncle who died quite suddenly on a fishing trip. He any my aunt had just bought a small farm with a very old farm house and he and she were trying to get it fixed up when he died. The movie company used the house for the film. The went to a lot of trouble and expense fixing up the house (which was a true blessing for my aunt and her two children) I would like to see the move so that I could see what they did to the house.
