Uffe Rørbæk Madsen,
Elf called Iki-Iäkäs is dying, because music box that plays the tone of his life is about to stop. Iki-Iäkäs sent 3 elves called Hande, Kauko and Toivo to retrieve the key to the music box that was left behind in a cave in Keuruu. With the help of the book of wise men they try to fix the propeller that broke down when they crashed. Elves must be careful because the book of wise men can't end up in the hands of näsä. Close to the cave that the elves inhabited lives a couple Olli Santanen, Kerttu Santanen and their dog Vikki. One night a person called Antti "Pentti" Nieksen asks if he could stay overnight in Santanen's house because his car broke down but Pentti stays there for a long time and for some reason he is interested in the book of wise men.
Entertaining plot, good actors, funny. Atmosphere has perfect match to Christmas time.
Usually these "Christmas calendar" - series are pretty boring and predictable. This was an interesting exception though. Base plot is exciting and actors brings lots of humor to it with their half English - half Finnish language. Relaxed atmosphere fits to Christmas and this series boosts it nicely bringing some spices within. Original and funny ideas from the Danish creator Carsten Knudsen and Finnish director Jukka Virtanen has converted it better than well. "The Joulukalenteri" is watchable for everyone. Each age group from grand children's to grand parents have liked this what I've heard. Only bad thing is I haven't found DVD's made of it yet.
