"The Apprentice" is a 15-episode unscripted drama in which 16 candidates from all walks of life, including both Ivy League MBA graduates and street entrepreneurs with no college education, will endure rigorous tasks each week while living together in a hip Manhattan loft apartment. The tasks will test their intelligence, chutzpah and street-smarts. They will face the challenges of living in close quarters and must compete sometimes humorous but always difficult job assignments and will be forced to think outside the box in order to outshine each other to get to the top. Upon their arrival to New York City (some for the very first time), the 16 candidates will be rushed over to Trump Tower to meet with Donald Trump, the centerpiece and driving force of this series. Mayor Pete Buttigieg criticized Trump for faking his "bone spurs" diagnosis to get out of serving in Vietnam. Speaking of military service, or lack thereof, when asked if Trump should have served in Vietnam, Buttigieg came for the bone spurs. "I have a pretty dim view of his decision to use his privilege to fake a disability in order to avoid serving in Vietnam," the mayor, who served in Afghanistan as a Navy Reserve intelligence officer, commented, adding that said fake disability should be "talked about" more. While Trump has insisted his 1968 medical deferment was legit, last year The New York Times reported that the children of the podiatrist who wrote the letter allowing the president to dodge the draft say it was done as "a favor" to Fred Trump, from whom the doctor's office space was rented. According to one of his daughters, the doctor received preferential treatment after the letter was issued, and no increases in rent. MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' host Joe Scarborough concurred and said the following: "(The thing) that probably should be troubling for Donald Trump is the fact that bone spurs don't go away. I mean, unless you have an operation or treat them? If he had a surgery, perhaps we can see records of that or evidence of that? But we, of course, know he never had any surgery because he never had bone spurs, and he did, in fact, allow another working class American to go fight in his spot, and 40 people died just the very day he graduated from college."
