This is a pretty amusing feature that gets good mileage out of its simple setup and characters. Towards the beginning, it bears some points of resemblance with the Lumière feature "Photographe" of a few years earlier, and it's possible that it could have been conceived as a more elaborate version of that earlier movie. In any case, it has the same slapstick feel, with enough creativity to make it funny.
There are four characters who each move into and out of the camera field, and you can tell that there was some planning behind it, as most of the movements look natural enough to work.
The story starts with a cameraman getting set up to take a picture of the 'Country Couple', when the male half of the couple insists on getting a closer look at the camera. Meanwhile, a young boy happens on the scene, and there follows some entertaining, if simple, slapstick. It's pretty good for its time, and worth seeing.
