Sex & Nudity

  • A man goes up to a woman and intentionally tries to grab a woman's breasts. He offers to go out on a date with her and have some sex, but she punches him in the groin.
  • This movie has a number of suggestive scenes and the dialogue contains some sex jokes.
  • A man and a woman kiss passionately in bed. It is implied that they have sex. Ron tells everyone that he had sex with her.
  • A man gets a very obvious erection in his pants for an extended sequence. A woman points it out and he tries to "walk the situation off" in his office.
  • A man says that in German 'San Diego' means a whale vagina.
  • One character says he wants to slather BBQ sauce on another character's rear end
  • A man says he wants to be friends with a woman's butt. Another man also says, "there is a party in my pants."
  • A woman is wearing only an apron (small part of the breast visible)
  • A man wears tighty-whitey underwear and thrusts his crotch at a woman to distract her
  • A man invites a woman to a "party in his pants" (and then another man)

Violence & Gore

  • All of the violence is over-the-top, and more bearable than it may sound.
  • A bear bites off a man's arm. No blood.
  • You see a few news-casting teams hitting each other with cameras and microphones on the street. A guy gets stabbed (not bloody), a guy is on fire and a guy's arm is chopped off (with the stub clearly visible).
  • Brick throws a trident and kills man with it (he should probably lay low for a while)
  • Woman throws a typewriter at a man, it hits him in the head.
  • A woman rips off a TV antenna and hits a man a few times with it.
  • A woman sprays mace in a man's eyes. He later sprays it in his own eyes by accident

Profanity

  • At one point in the movie a lady says "It smells like Bigfoot's dick!"
  • 1 F-word, 14 sexual references, 5 scatological terms (3 mild), 19 anatomical terms, 26 mild obscenities, 2 religious profanities, 10 religious exclamations. One use of the phrase "go f**k yourself" in a very funny scene. The Unrated DVD includes five more uses of the f-word in the scene right after it, in reference to the preceding scene. Five uses of the word "s**t." Plenty of use of terms like "a**," "b**ch," "c**p," "h**l," "d**n," "wh*re," "hook*r," one use of the insult "d**k weed,"
  • 5 uses of 'shit', 5 of 'ass', a few of 'whore' and 'bitch' during arguments, and 1 of 'fuck'. The unrated version has 6 more uses of 'fuck', all within one scene.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Several instances of smoking.
  • The news team drinks and smokes before every broadcast.
  • A character becomes an alcoholic for a short period of time.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Although the scene with the dog being thrown into the water under a bridge is meant to be comical, it could still upset some animal lovers.
  • While there's no nudity or detailed sex, there's a pretty big amount of verbal sexual humor. Some might be offended by frequent instances of sexism. 1970s sexism is a prominent theme in this movie.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • There is a long scene where multiple news broadcasting teams brawl with blades, guns, grenades and other weapons. A character even gets his arm cut off and we see his bone and bloody cross section. The scene is extremely over the top and exaggerated as a satirical take on gang wars. It is used for comedic effect and there is no intense blood/gore.
  • A dog is kicked off a bridge.
