Bill O'Reilly Hasn't Read Megyn Kelly's Book, Says 'I'm Not Interested in Making My Network Look Bad'

Do we sense some bad blood lingering at Fox News?

With Donald Trump headed to the White House, you’d figure the conservative cable news network would be celebrating this week. But the release of anchor Megyn Kelly‘s new memoir Settle for More, with accusations of sexual harassment against former network chairman Roger Ailes, has pitted some Fox News loyalists against her. And Bill O’Reilly is clear which side he’s on.

Michael Strahan’s ‘Live’ Exit Just the Latest in Morning Anchor Drama

Michael Strahan’s ‘Live’ Exit Just the Latest in Morning Anchor Drama
The network morning shows are in the midst of a musical-chairs moment that is as much about positioning for the future as it is about the day-to-day battle for ratings and bragging rights.

ABC set off a shuffle — and a kerfuffle — with news last week that “Live With Kelly and Michael” co-host Michael Strahan would move to “Good Morning America” full-time in the fall. Meanwhile, NBC’s “Today” is mulling shifts in its 9 a.m. anchor team as it looks to see who clicks with whom.

The moves are all part of the ongoing nuclear war in the a.m. between the networks, each eager to conquer the early- and mid-morning crowd. Willie Geist, who co-anchors the 9 a.m. hour of “Today,” was dispatched earlier this month to host a revamped Sunday edition of the program. Even CBS stalwart “Sunday Morning” is facing a generational shift as the network tries

Morning-Show Wars Take a Twist as ‘Today’ Trumps ‘Gma’ in Total Viewers

Morning-Show Wars Take a Twist as ‘Today’ Trumps ‘Gma’ in Total Viewers
It’s not a good morning at ABC.

NBC’s “Today” claimed Thursday that it trumped ABC’s “Good Morning America” in total viewers for the first time in a non-Olympics week since 2012, the latest twist in the scorched-earth battle between the two networks to dominate the morning-news audience and lock in millions in extra advertising dollars.

NBC said”Today” beat “Gma” by the thinnest of margins – just 49,000 viewers overall and 180,000 people between 25 and 54, the demographic most coveted by advertisers in news programming. NBC’s morning program, which has been on the air since 1952, has generally trailed “Gma” in total viewers since the spring of 2012, the result of viewers being turned off by a “Today” turn toward stories of a more tabloid nature and in reaction to an NBC decision in June of that year to remove co-host Ann Curry from the program.

The results have given some TV-news executives pause.

Morning Show Wars: ‘Gma’ Wins Viewers, ‘Ctm’ Keeps Growing
All three broadcast morning shows have something to brag about. ABC’s “Good Morning America” was No. 1 in total viewers during the week of Jan. 25, averaging over 5 million viewers. Joan Rivers was the big story on Good Morning America, Today and CBS This Morning on Friday. Stephen Colbert ‘Only Logical Successor’ for Letterman, Leslie Moonves Says

Stephen Colbert ‘Only Logical Successor’ for Letterman, Leslie Moonves Says
CBS Corp. CEO Leslie Moonves considers Stephen Colbert the “only logical successor” for David Letterman on the “Late Show.”

In an interview with “CBS This Morning,” Moonves said Colbert stood out from the sea of talent vying for the coveted seat.

“It appeared to us that he was the only logical successor to David,” he said during the taped interview that aired Friday. “And when I called Dave to ask for his blessing he said exactly the same thing. He said, ‘I can’t think of anybody even a close second.’”

And although the “Colbert Report” host will be dropping his famous pompous conservative alter ego, Moonves said Colbert will thrive in his own skin.

“Obviously the character he does on Comedy Central is going to be ending, but then he’s going to bring Stephen Colbert to the table,” Moonves said. “And we have no question that this guy

June Squibb: Poster Girl for Oscar Campaigns

June Squibb: Poster Girl for Oscar Campaigns
June is bustin’ out all over. The irresistible June Squibb has become a YouTube success thanks to a brief and funny film made for “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” in which she deadpans about her chances of winning an Academy Award.

It’s no coincidence that the clip appeared this week. Campaigning is in overdrive building up to the Feb. 25 close of Oscar voting. The average moviegoer may wonder why in February they watched David O. Russell on “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart” talking about “American Hustle” two months after the film opened. Or why Leonardo DiCaprio was on “CBS This Morning,” while the show featured ads for “Gravity,” which opened in October, or why the L.A. Times entertainment section on Feb. 21 featured a front-page interview with Steve McQueen.

The enthusiastic campaigning is not surprising, because few nominees are considered shoo-ins. And this 11th-hour push makes sense, strategically; it’s
