Guess there is a lot more that would be heard and spoken about Mr. India 2 and the controversy surrounding it for many more days and weeks to come. Ever since it was announced that filmmaker Ali Abbas Zafar would help a trilogy on the subject, filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor has brought out his daggers condemning the announcement of the film. While there are many who have welcomed the announcement of the film(s), considering the cult status that the Anil Kapoor, Sridevi and Amrish Puri starrer has enjoyed for decades, there are detractors too.
As a matter of fact Shekhar Kapoor has hinted that he may take a legal recourse pertaining to the film’s announcement since he wasn’t involved in its conceptualization and subsequently the announcement. This is where certain members of the industry are wondering if the move would indeed be justified. Reason being that a long time back,...

Randeep, along with UK-based international humanitarian relief organization Khalsa Aid, recently visited drought-hit Vele village to provide drinking water to the people.
The "Highway" actor took to his social media and shared a video in which he is seen urging the government to "find permanent solutions" for the drought victims.

It looks like the tiff between Sushant Singh Rajput and Aditya Chopra is getting uglier day-by-day. Recently, in a sudden outburst, the actor, who has been garnering immense appreciation for his honest performance of Indian Cricket team skipper Ms Dhoni in his biopic Ms Dhoni: The Untold Story, cleared the air that he was never offered Aditya Chopra's Befikre and wouldn’t have done it either had it been offered to him in the first place. Rumours were rife that Sushant was supposed to work in Befikre but later the makers dropped him from the film and gave away the role to Ranveer Singh without informing the actor about the same. To which an upset Sushant replied in a way that popped out everyone's eye. "Let me clear it once and for all. I was never offered Befikre. But had I been offered, I wouldn’t have done it.

Paani is history. At least for now. Our most distinguished Bollywood import Shekhar Kapoor has moved to London again for a tryst with Shakespeare. He has directed the pilot for a new series on TNT entitled Will which chronicles the early years of Shakespeare in London. Shekhar's familiarity with the Elizabethan era is now part of history. He directed by two big-screen bio-pics on Queen Elizabeth. Will is far, far brighter than Shekhar's gloomy and dark Elizabethan bio-pics. The gaudy colours that assail us in the brief but tumultuous trailer are reminiscent of Baz Luhrman's Moulin Rouge. And (b)rightly so: Will is written by Luhrmann's writer Craig Pearce. Shekhar adapts to the hedonistic 16th century London with a vigour that is at once inviting and original. He is not afraid to convey the excessive extravagance of the Elizabethan era with a remarkable penchant for the raunchy .And the characters...

Shekhar Kapoor did it again. Came This close to directing a film and then moving away. Paani is a project that everyone was excited about. Producer Aditya Chopra had innumerable brainstorming session with Shekhar about the look for a futuristic Romeo & Juliet saga when water was going to be the most precious commodity on earth. Sushant Singh Rajput spent one whole year preparing for the part, and then to be told that the film wasn't happening... A source reveals, "It wasn't easy for Aditya or Sushant. Aditya took a painful decision to call off Paani because the project wasn't getting anywhere. And for Sushant to quietly accept that decision meant writing off a whole year of his hard work. Added to his woes is the fact that another whole year went into preparing for Dibakar Bannerjee's Byomkesh Bakshi which finally flopped. The young actor was understandably miffed." Says a source close to Sushant,...

Apparently, the film's very busy leading lady Alia Bhatt has given away her dates to her mentor Karan Johar for his ill-fated casting-challenged Shhuddhi. That leaves Sushant with a lot of empty pages in his date diary. However when contacted about the fate of Raabta, Sushant texted back, "It is very much on, from November." When asked about his co-star Sushant was nonchalant. "I've no idea. I'm only concerned with my work."...

Many years ago director Dev Benegal made Split Wide Open with Rahul Bose, a film about water scarcity in Mumbai. When Shekhar Kapoor announced Paani for the first time 10 years ago, Dev Benegal cried foul regarding his film's subject being suspiciously similar to what Shekhar proposed. Now when Shekhar Kapur has begun prepping for Paani with Sushant Singh Rajput, another filmmaker has crept up from behind with a film that sounds like a precursor to Paani. National award winning director Nila Madhab Panda's Kaun Kitne Paani Mein, funded by One Drop, a Canadian no-profit organization devoted to providing drinking water the world over, seems to share uncanny resemblances to Shekhar's Paani. While Kaun Kitne Paani Mein is set in two parts of a village in Odissa named Upri and Bairi where water is a constant source of friction, Shekhar Kapur's Paani will unfold in a futuristic city divided...

For Sushant Singh Rajput, it is time for leap of generations that could fracture any actor's performing abilities. But Sushant, who with just three films, has prepared a roster of character-portraits rather than star-vehicles for his career, is all set to make a 110-year journey in the course of two films. While in Dibakar Banerjee's Detective Byomkesh Bakshy, Sushant Singh Rajput plays a detective in Kolkata in the 1940s, in Shekhar Kapoor's Paani, he is cast as a ghetto-boy from Mumbai in the year 2050. The cultural and chronological leap is tremendous. And Sushant is revelling in every bit of the challenge. Says Sushant, "I'm ready to make a 110-year leap from my last film to the next. In Detective Byomkesh Bakshy though, I had to go back in time to the 1940s, I had solid reference points. I watched a lot of films from that era. Then of course,...

Sushant Singh Rajput has opted out of mentor Abhishek Kapoor's next venture Fitoor. The film which was initially said to feature Sushant alongside Katrina Kaif will now be without a lead actor. The reason behind this sudden drop is that the film which had earlier scheduled the shoot for this year has been shifted to next.
Due to this shift in dates, the shoot of Fitoor clashes with Sushant's dates allotted for Shekhar Kapur's Paani next year.

The media has been abuzz with reports of prolific filmmaker Shekhar Kapur busy casting for his next film Paani. However, far from the eye of the media, the director has already completed his next film which is based on, believe it or not, cockroaches! Apparently, the director has just finished an animated film on cockroaches that features music by A. R. Rahman, while the songs are choreographed by Ahmed Khan. As for the film, the story deals with the life of cockroaches and how they go about in their everyday routine. Helmed by Shekhar himself, the film has been made in collaboration with a major animation studio and will also be marketed by a big Hollywood company. Titled A Suitable Cockroach, reports suggest the film is set in the future when the common household insect may be the only living organism on the planet. News circulated earlier this year that Hrithik Roshan is to play the leading man in Shekhar Kapur’s forthcoming magnum opus Paani. This is what an anonymous source stated earlier this week about the casting of Paani. “Yes, Anushka Sharma has been finalized for Shekhar Kapur’s Paani. However, despite this report, Shekhar Kapur himself tweeted that there has been no conversations with Anushka regarding his much anticipated film. “Anushka Sharma is an outstanding actress and would love 2 work with her. But there’s been no conversation with her on #Paani,” according to Mr Kapur.

As always we loved these songs when they first came out but once we saw them in the movie we loved them even more! Check out...
