Prelude to the TV series Ke Wang
15 March 2004 | by zzmaleSee all my reviews

The literal translation of the title of this movie is: the Wish.

This movie is a movie version equivalent, as well as a prelude to the later very popular TV series titled Ke Wang, first aired in China during the 1990's.

This movie just reflects a simple wish of the common citizens in China: no more turbulent political turmoils, no more back stabbing by others, no big wishes such as getting millions of dollars, just a simple wish of living happily with an adequate salary with all basic needs satisfied and may be a little bit more.

The TV series did create a big uproar because people really liked it, thanks to this movie, which paved the way for the later success. However, the movie itself was not as successfully as the TV series, in fact, not even close, but the TV series producer learned from the movie and corrected all the flaws thus became successful.
