Trivia

Leprechaun in the Hood (2000) director Rob Spera was involved with this project in its early stages, and came up with two proposed storylines; one set in Venice Beach, and another set on an island during spring break. However, the positive reaction to the previous film resulted in the producers insisting that the film be again set in an inner city with a cast primarily made up of rappers. Not wanting to rehash the previous film, Spera left and was replaced by Steven Ayromlooi. See more »

Goofs

Rory said each coin weighed 8 ounces, and there were 200 coins to split between them. This makes the treasure chest weigh 100 pounds, although the characters were running with it as though it weighed nothing. See more »

A Breathe of Fresh Air
31 May 2004 | by mattressman_pdlSee all my reviews

IMO this may well be the best in the series. Most movies attempt to integrate humor and horror and end up a calamity while this one blends them very well. The film features Warwick Davis as the malevolent Leprechaun who stalks a group of friends from the inner city after stealing his gold. The actors do exemplorary jobs and there is enough blood and laughs to make it quite enjoyable. It is certainly a breathe of fresh air when put along the likes of Leprechaun 3 and 4. This Film also features Sticky Fingaz and Tangi Miller. Hesitance toward giving this film a chance is quite normal, but believe me it's worth it. Once in a while you find a straight-to-video gem, this is one of those times. If your a fan of Leprechaun, Check it out!
