Elm Street Star Heather Langenkamp Wants to Do One More Freddy Krueger Movie

Elm Street Star Heather Langenkamp Wants to Do One More Freddy Krueger Movie
These days, it seems that Hollywood is shifting its focus from churning out reboots to developing direct sequels to classic movies. The most recent example of this would be David Gordon Green's Halloween, which served as a sequel to John Carpenter's original 1978 film and brought back star Jamie Lee Curtis. Its impressive success is leading some to wonder if the same treatment will be done with other classic franchises, such as A Nightmare on Elm Street. As it turns out, nobody seems to be hoping for that to happen more than Heather Langenkamp, who portrayed final girl Nancy Thompson in Wes Craven's 1984 original.

"I'm sitting here like any other scream queen in Hollywood, hoping that they revive their franchise. I'm not alone! I know of lots of other horror heroines who have this little bit of spring in their step thinking about the chance of perhaps being

Robert Englund Initially Turned Down The Freddy Cameo In The Goldbergs

Earlier this week, A Nightmare on Elm Street star Robert Englund made his long-awaited return to the role of Freddy Krueger in a Halloween episode of The Goldbergs, and while fans seem pretty happy to see the dream demon back on their screens, this would’ve been a pretty hard crossover to picture just a couple of months ago.

Sure enough, the actor himself couldn’t really see this collaboration working when he was first approached by producer Adam F. Goldberg and the team, and in a recent interview with The Nerdist, Englund recalled how he initially turned down the offer for a cameo in the sitcom.

“When they approached me I said no immediately because I couldn’t imagine Freddy on prime time. I could imagine him on a special episode of American Horror Story or something like that, but then when I got the script—and this is

The Internet Reacts To Robert Englund As Freddy In The Goldbergs Halloween Episode

TV sitcom The Goldbergs proved to be the unlikely cause for a lot excitement from slasher movie fans when it was revealed last month that the new Halloween episode would see A Nightmare on Elm Street star Robert Englund reprise his most famous role for the first time since 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason.

And while some viewers may have been a little disappointed by Freddy Krueger’s limited screen time, it seems that Englund’s recently aired cameo more or less lived up to the hype, with Twitter flooding with messages from fans still high off the nostalgia buzz and gladly reliving their old nightmares.

It was really cool watching Robert Englund reprise his role as Freddy Krueger on tonight's The Goldberg's! It made me feel all giddy inside! #horror pic.twitter.com/k6eZXfEMgR

Freddy Krueger Jokes About Brats in The Goldbergs Halloween Episode Clip

Freddy Krueger Jokes About Brats in The Goldbergs Halloween Episode Clip
Nightmare on Elm Street actor Robert Englund is finally back in the iconic make-up, claws and sweater of Freddy Krueger after 13 years of not playing the character on camera, but he isn't returning in exactly the way horror fans would typically expect. Instead, Freddy is appearing in the Halloween Special of the hit ABC series The Goldbergs, and a promotional clip has now been released online, giving us another look at Englund back in action as the dreaded Dream Demon.

The last time Englund played Freddy on screen was in 2005's A Nightmare on Elm Street: Real Nightmares, which was essentially a game show hosted by Freddy Krueger. Before that, it was in Freddy vs. Jason in 2003. Englund was later replaced by Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy when the franchise was rebooted in 2010. However, since The Goldbergs takes place in the '80s, the characters of this TV series recognize Robert Englund as the one,

Freddy Brings The Puns In New Clip From The Goldbergs Halloween Episode

Tomorrow’s episode of The Goldbergs will see the long-awaited return of Freddy Krueger, and it’s already pretty clear that we’re getting the funny Freddy from the sequels, as opposed to the ‘serious’ Freddy from the original A Nightmare on Elm Street.

This new clip posted to the Twitter account of the ‘80s-set sitcom sees Robert Englund as the famed killer conversing with family matriarch Beverly Goldberg, who’s apparently lost her son. And while Freddy isn’t indulging in his usual habit of killing people, he is still being kind of a jerk about the whole situation.

The upcoming Halloween episode– titled “Mister Knifey-Hands” – is the unlikely medium for which Englund will be reprising his most famous role for the first time since 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason. And if this seems like a slightly confusing place to make such a comeback, the actor recently explained that he

13 Movies That Had Absolutely Awful CGI (Photos)

The key to successfully using CGI is to at least semi-convincingly integrate it with everything else, a task that many, many movies have failed to do over the last few decades. So let’s take a look at some of the worst offenders.

Justice League” (2017) — We probably all know the story by now. Henry Cavill had to pop in for reshoots while “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” was still in production and had to wear a mustache as Superman. Warner Bros tried to CGI out the mustache, but it was not at all convincing and ended up honestly being really hilarious.

Avengers: Age of Ultron” (2015) — For the most part, the CGI in this “Avengers” sequel was as good as it needed to be. And then Iron Man would pop into a scene looking like a test render from the original 2008 “Iron Man” flick.

Fantastic Four” (2015) — The behind-the-scenes drama on this flick involved,

Robert Englund would don Freddy’s jumper for one more A Nightmare on Elm Street

You wouldn’t need to be in dreamland to have imagined news like this would emerge in the wake of David Gordon Green’s Halloween (read our ★★★★ review here) collecting a huge bucket of treats at the box-office. Following Robert Englund’s first outing in the stripy jumper since 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason, in this week’s episode of The Goldbergs, the actor has hinted that he’d possibly have one more go at terrorizing the children of Elm Street as Freddy Krueger.

Speaking to Access Live this week, Englund, who’d previously announced he was hanging up the glove, said “I think they want to reboot the franchise, but they’re gonna need a new actor. They’re gonna need a new actor to play Freddy because they’re gonna have to do eight of them. I might have one left in me… but yeah.”

Robert Englund Explains Why He Returned As Freddy Krueger For The Goldbergs

Freddy Krueger’s appearance in the upcoming Halloween episode of The Goldbergs marks a strange and unexpected twist in the character’s decades-spanning history. So while plenty of A Nightmare on Elm Street fans would probably embrace the return of the classic killer regardless of the context, the news still left many of us wondering why actor Robert Englund chose a sitcom as the project with which to reprise his most famous role for the first time since 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason.

Show creator Adam F. Goldberg has already provided his side of the story, recalling how he finally convinced Englund after months of contact. And now, speaking to the New York Post, the star himself has offered some clarification, explaining how Goldberg convinced him that Freddy’s ‘80s heyday was worth revisiting through this nostalgia-heavy series.

LeBron James Wants to Produce Friday the 13th Reboot
LeBron James might be a star on the basketball court, but he's also carving a place for himself in Hollywood. He'll be starring in an upcoming sequel to the '90s hit Space Jam, but James is very busy behind the camera with his SpringHill Entertainment banner as well. Several TV series and feature films have been released through the production company thus far, with several various projects currently in the works. Perhaps seeing the money to be made with reviving slasher movie franchises, James is now reportedly in negotiations with Vertigo Entertainment to produce a new reboot of Friday the 13th.

It comes as no surprise to see movie producers vying for the chance to reboot the classic horror franchise. As we just saw this past weekend, Halloween crushed the box office, shattering several records in the process. With Jason Voorhees just as popular as Michael Myers (if not

The Goldbergs creator on convincing Robert Englund to return as Freddy Krueger

Although he’s ruled out a return for another movie, horror icon Robert Englund is donning the fedora and razor glove once again as he reprises the role of Freddy Krueger for ‘Mr. Knifey-Hands’, the upcoming Halloween episode of the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs.

Ahead of the episode this coming Wednesday, creator Adam F. Goldberg has explained how he got Englund to return to his signature role for the first time since 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason.

“Convincing Robert Englund to come out of retirement to play Freddy Krueger one last time is a true bucket-list moment for me as a writer. I’ve been a longtime obsessive fan, collecting Freddy artwork and action figures. It took me months to convince Robert to revisit the character. Luckily, his manager Joe Rice is a big Goldbergs fan and helped me convince Robert that the world needed to see Freddy one last time.

New Clip From The Goldbergs Halloween Episode Offers First Footage Of Freddy Krueger

A couple of days ago, we got our first footage from the highly anticipated Halloween-themed episode of The Goldbergs, in which Jackie Goldberg squabbled with her son Adam about whether he should be allowed to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street. Notably absent from this clip, however, was the man that slasher fans have all been waiting for, Robert Englund, who’ll be reprising his role as the famed Freddy Krueger for the first time since 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason.

That unveiling’s been saved for this new 15-second promo, which shows us that Adam did indeed watch Elm Street, and just as Jackie feared, he’s having some bad dreams. Though short, the video does offer a quick homage to Johnny Depp’s death scene in the 1984 film, as well as a shot of Freddy’s wardrobe filled with red-and-green striped sweaters. Jackie, meanwhile, is taking none of the killer’s shtick,

Freddy Krueger Is Back in The Goldbergs Halloween Episode Trailer

Freddy Krueger Is Back in The Goldbergs Halloween Episode Trailer
Robert Englund is back in action as Freddy Krueger in the latest promo for The Goldbergs. We've seen behind-the-scenes footage of Englund and Wendi McLendon-Covey's Beverly Goldberg as well as a clip from the episode, which unfortunately did not feature Freddy. However, a new promo has been released for the Mister Knifey-Hands episode and Freddy Krueger is back in all of his nightmarish glory. The tease is brief, but it is worth watching a few times just to see Englund back in the full makeup and costume.

Young Adam Goldberg isn't allowed to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street in the episode, but Jackie's parents end up letting him watch it anyway. This leads to Beverly Goldberg having a dream encounter with Freddy Krueger, who she mistakenly calls "Mr. Kroger," which Freddy doesn't appreciate at all. Beverly doesn't seem very scared of Freddy, a fact that seems to only anger the horror icon further.

Watch the First Clip from the Freddy Krueger Episode of The Goldbergs

The first clip from the Freddy Krueger episode of The Goldbergs has been revealed. We've seen little teasers to promote the upcoming special Halloween episode, but this is the first clip from the show, setting the scene up for what's to come later on in the episode. Sadly, Robert Englund does not make an appearance as Freddy Krueger in the latest one-minute clip. However, from what we've seen, it looks like the episode is going to be full of 1980s horror references, which makes The Goldbergs the place to be on October 24th, and quite possibly the coolest Halloween surprise this year.

The official synopsis for the Freddy Krueger episode of The Goldbergs, entitled Mister Knifey-Hands, was released a few weeks ago and the first clip falls right in line. In the clip, Beverly Goldberg puts her foot down and states that Adam is not allowed to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street

Watch First Clip From The Goldbergs Episode Featuring Freddy Krueger

While it’s not the way I’d have chosen to see Robert Englund return to the iconic character of Freddy Krueger, given that it’s been 15 years since Freddy vs. Jason, I’ll take what I can get.

His upcoming return is set to happen on The Goldbergs‘ special Halloween episode entitled “Mr. Knifey-Hands,” and from what we understand, he’ll show up in a dream caused by the family renting the original A Nightmare on Elm Street, an encounter which the synopsis promises will “teach [Beverly] an important lesson about her son’s relationship with Jackie.”

Now, if you’ve checked out the video above you’ll have noticed a distinct lack of Freddy Krueger in it. While this is definitely disappointing, I guess there’s no point blowing the big reveal in a promo clip, right?

Admittedly, traditional American sitcoms definitely aren’t my thing, but I’m

Here’s How The Goldbergs Creator Got Robert Englund To Come Back As Freddy

While the return of A Nightmare on Elm Street star Robert Englund to his most famous role would likely be enough to get fans hyped regardless of the context, you do have to wonder how TV sitcom The Goldbergs became the place to deliver our first slice of classic Krueger since 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason.
