Hrithik Roshan to meet Farhan Akhtar for release deadlock of Kaabil and Raees

Hrithik Roshan to meet Farhan Akhtar for release deadlock of Kaabil and Raees
With the Hrithik Roshan starrer Raees inveigling itself into the prized release date (January 26) of Rakesh Roshan-Sanjay Gupta's Kaabil, the stage is set for a potentially ruinous clash at the box-office on Republic Day. Apparently, the leading man of Kaabil, Hrithik Roshan who is a childhood buddy of Farhan Akhtar the co-producer of Raees, has sent out feelers to the latter for an amicable settlement to the deadlock. Says a source close to the development, "Hrithik and Farhan go back a long way. They are childhood friends. In fact, when Farhan turned director with Dil Chahta Hai, Hrithik was his first choice for the cast. They later worked together in Lakshya. This clash is not what either of them would want." A meeting between the two friends is on the cards. But the problem is, neither of the two parties is willing to back out. When contacted Kaabil producer Rakesh Roshan,

Wazir Movie Review

2016’s first big release is Bejoy Nambiar’s Wazir starring Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Akthar in principle roles where the story centres around the idea of a chess game, its rules, its pieces, the relationships and most importantly the idea of winning and losing.

Having directed Bachchan in his 2004 release Lakshya, Wazir sees Akthar and Bachchan share the silver screen for the first time. This is something I am aware that a lot of people have been waiting for and I count myself as one of them. The question is does Nambiar’s directorial offering live up to the expectation of so many?

Without giving too much away, Wazir sees Akthar cast as Danish Ali, a grieving officer, married to Ruhana played by Aditi Rao Hydari. Their relationship is affected by a moment of recklessness for which Hydari blames Akthar. It is following this incident that the rest of the

Farhan Akhtar: “Wazir is not only a thriller, it’s a story with great heart.”

Every since Farhan Akhtar first stepped in front of the camera as an actor, after directing of some of Hindi films’ best movies, he has been thrilling audiences with his outstanding performances. It all began with Rock On! and from there through his incredible transformation and complete immersion into his character in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, to last year’s Dil Dhadakne Do, Akhtar has shown he is one of the best actors in the industry.

In his newest film Wazir, which opens this Friday January 8th, the actor took on many new challenges, including playing a cop for the first time, doing action sequences and oh yes, starring opposite the legendary Amitabh Bachchan.

Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, the Vidhu Vinod ChopraRajkumar Hirani produced film tells the tale of two unlikely friends, a wheelchair-bound chess grandmaster and a brave Ats officer, brought together by grief and a strange twist of fate.

Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom 4

Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom 4
Vijay Krishna Acharya a.k.a. Victor is all set to strike back with the fourth installment of the Dhoom franchise.

This time, the cast gets even spicier. Apparently, Hrithik Roshan will play the main antagonist again, as he had done in Dhoom 2, while Amitabh Bachchan joins the franchise for the first time.

Interestingly, Junior Bachchan Abhishek, is already an integral part of the Dhoom franchise. Whether Big B will have occasions for face-offs in the plot with his son, is not known at the moment.

Says a reliable source, "At the moment, it is not very clear where Victor is going with this. All that is confirmed is that Aditya Chopra and Victor have approached and signed Bachchan Saab and Hrithik Roshan."

Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan have earlier been together in Farhan Akhtar's Lakshya, though they did not have many scenes together. It is being said that this time around,

Farhan Akhtar's next a women-centric film?

While Farhan Akhtar has proved his mettle in various arenas (director, writer, producer, singer, lyricist and a great actor), yet we expect the versatile star to amaze us with yet another venture.

Though he has churned out few but great films like Dil Chahta Hai, Lakshya, Don series as director, we want Farhan to yet again don the director's hat. Nevertheless, this time around Farhan can take women-centric subject in hand, which is quite a trend in the industry these days.

Recently we saw a spate of female-oriented films like Piku, Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Mary Kom, Kahani, Queen, NH10 and many others being made. They not only did well at the box office but even impressed the audiences. So, it would be great rather a refreshing experience for the audience to see him doing a women-centric film.

While Farhan's films have always talked about male-bonding, it would be interesting

The actor, who will be seen in Yrf’s Kill Dil in November, decided to dance in the middle of a very busy street and in front of a quickly growing crowd to pay tribute to Hrithik Roshan, who he is very fond of.

Hansal Mehta - Jeffrey Archer to collaborate over Kane and Abel
Hansal Mehta is all set to collaborate with the international bestselling author Jeffrey Archer over a film adaptation of the 1979 bestseller Kane & Abel. He has also finalized his favourite actor Rajkummar Yadav to play one of the protagonists. Interestingly, Hansal has earlier adapted Kane & Abel to television. Recounts the Shahid director, "I had done Kane & Abel for Zee TV in 1999. It was called 'Lakshya' and it starred Kay Kay Menon and Pramod Moutho as the two protagonists. It was a kind of game-changer on Indian television. But we were given the wrong telecast timing and the series never took off." Hansal has been desirous of taking the story to a larger screen and audience ever since Lakshya couldn't get the audience it deserved. Recently, Imtiaz Ali had converted his tele-film Highway (starring Aditya Shrivastava and Kartika Rane) into a feature film featuring Randeep Hooda and Alia Bhatt. Alas,

UK Readers! Win! CD Soundtrack of Fukrey

Your college days are said to be the best of your life – fun, frivolous and filled with friendship. But this is far from true in the new “rogue-trip” film ‘Fukrey’.

Fukrey is a twisted coming-of-age drama and deliciously hilarious tale of four young, hapless ‘nobodies’ [‘Fukreys’], running after their individual desires, brought together by one dream. Their lives are turned upside down when they chase that elusive ‘get rich quick’ scheme. The film combines the crazy antics and madcap mishaps of four loser college friends, as their paths cross with an array of colourful characters, from a tough-talking Punjabi female don to a Jugaad Baaz college watchman. Mayhem ensues with predictably hilarious and unexpected results.

Fukrey stars a bevy of talented stars in the Bollywood arena – Richa Chadda [‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’]; Ali Fazal [3 Idiots, The Other End Of The Line] Manjot Singh [‘Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!’, ‘Udaan’], Pulkit Samrat [‘Bittoo Boss’] and Varun Sharma, amongst others.

The acclaimed producer duo Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani lend their sizable
