Storyline

After a gymnastics accident leaves her paraplegic, 18-year-old Anna Morgan returns to high school. Because of time lost due to her injury and rehab, she is repeating her junior year, with her sister Beth. The film covers her adjustments to her new life, and her classmates' problems in dealing with her wheelchair. In a series of small vignettes, it also gives a picture of her family, good and bad, and her parents' efforts to support their kids while dealing with their own fears. Written by fgunther

Quotes

Leslie Morgan: You're going to the dance?
Anna Morgan: Didn't Dad tell you not to make a big deal about this?
Leslie Morgan: Yes, but you know I don't listen to him.
Anna Morgan: Well, maybe you should try it sometime.
Leslie Morgan: maybe when we're old. So, you're going. You sure this is a good idea? I mean, you should do this kind of thing eventually, but maybe this is pushing things a little too fast. I don't know. What do you think?
Anna Morgan: I think that I'm going to the dance. It's not that big of a deal.
Leslie Morgan: Okay. Okay, then.
[hugs Anna]
Anna Morgan: You know, this is just the corny ...

An average calm TV movie.

Average story, average script, average acting... but that don't deny this film's inspirational value. The filmmakers did well to keep the story real by refraining from showing miracles. The paraplegic protagonist and narrator of the film Anna is played well enough by Lindsey Felton, though her figure is not, let's say suitable, for a gymnast. The other actors, especially the kid who played Anna's porn-addicted brother, also did satisfactory jobs.

In order to keep itself real, the story got also boring in the middle and viewers might lose interest for that. I was able to sit through it and I don't really regret it. These films are often good for a change.
