Barry Allen, a forensic crime scene assistant for Central City Police Department, is struck by lightning during a storm affected by the particle accelerator from S.T.A.R. Labs when it explodes. Comatose for nine months, Barry awakens in S.T.A.R. Labs, having been placed in the care of his scientist idol, Dr. Harrison Wells, along with his assistants Dr. Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramon. Barry quickly learns that he can move at extraordinary speeds and that there were other "metahumans" created from the explosion. One of them, Clyde Mardon, is robbing banks with his ability to control the weather. In order to stop Clyde, Barry is outfitted with a suit that can withstand his high speed movements. He tracks down Mardon and, with the help of Detective West (who learns of Barry's abilities), Barry is able to stop Mardon. With his new powers, Barry vows to find out who killed his mother when he was a child, believing him to be another metahuman who has similar abilities of speed as he. ... Cisco Ramon repeatedly uses the term "knots per hour" as a speed unit, which is wrong, because a knot (nautical mile per hour) is already a measure of speed. See more »

Lots Of Fun!

I didn't expect much out of The Flash. I already didn't like Arrow, and when I heard it was from the same creators as Arrow, I knew that this show wasn't going to be anything special. But I gave it a shot, and man am I glad I did! The show is very fast-paced, and is a bucket of fun! Cars flipping in the air, Flash doing his cool moves, and a great villain! What a way to kick off the first episode! The whole episode is extremely rushed, purposely done by the writers so that we can get to the main story. And while a lot of people seem to dislike that part of the show, I actually enjoyed it. Most shows these days bore you to death with the origin story, with out letting you get to the main point, but this show jumps right in! I LOVE IT! Acting is Superb! Grant Gustin does the best portrayal of The Flash yet! Overall, this episode was fantastic! It wasn't perfect, but if it continues like this, we might have ourselves a keeper! - Jdmax
