Storyline

Against the backdrop of aged has-been rock star Billy Mack's Christmas themed comeback cover of "Love Is All Around" which he knows is crap and makes no bones about it much to his manager Joe's chagrin as he promotes the record, several interrelated stories about romantic love and the obstacles to happiness through love for Londoners are presented in the five weeks preceding Christmas. Daniel's wife has just passed away, leaving him to take care of his adolescent stepson Sam by himself. Daniel is uncertain how to deal with Sam and his problems without his wife present, especially in light of a potential budding romance within their household. Juliet and Peter have just gotten married. They believe that Peter's best friend and best man Mark hates Juliet but won't say so to his or her face. Others looking at the situation from the outside believe Mark is jealous of Juliet as he is in love with Peter himself. Jamie, a writer, is taking a writing retreat by himself in rural France ... Trivia

In 2017 a handful of the main cast members re-united for a one off special for Comic relief. Aired on the BBC in March 2017. The sketch lasted 10 minutes and followed up on some of the cast members and their lives in 2017. The Highlight was Hugh Grant dancing to Drakes Hotline Bling. Well worth a watch if you are a fan of the original film. See more »

Goofs

When the Prime Minister is going to find Natalie at the 'dodgy end of Wandsworth' his limo is viewed crossing Albert Bridge, but is actually driving away from Wandsworth in the direction of Chelsea. The Albert Bridge has three lanes, with two going in the direction of Chelsea, although now the central lane is blocked to reduce weight on the bridge during peak hour (changed 2007). See more »

Quotes

[first lines]
Prime Minister: Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there - fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know, none...

Alternate Versions

There are two instances of switched music between the UK and US versions of the film. In the UK version, the montage introducing the office Christmas party is set to "Too Lost in You" by Sugababes, while the US version of the film replaces it with "The Trouble With Love Is", performed by Kelly Clarkson. Then, during the second half of the end credits after the Clarkson song plays (for the second time in the US version) the UK version concludes with a cover of "Jump (For My Love)", performed by Girls Aloud. This song does not appear at all in the US version, which concludes with the Sugababes song that the UK version used at the party. The 2009 US Blu-Ray actually contains the UK cut of the film, while the original US DVD had the US cut. See more »

To believe again...
17 February 2006 | by garcia-22See all my reviews

Love Actually is movie that helps you see how life redefine's it self.

Common and extraordinary lives are mixed together with such good taste that you tend to believe that you were probably wrong the last time you were angry because of someone else doings.

The cast gave us outstanding performances by Hugh Grant, Liam Neesom and Emma Thompson and characters (the rock star and his manager are just persons to love!).

Special chapter for the charming Keira Knightley that just have away herself... and that is to say probably a person very similar to the general and popular idea of what angel's are.

A movie just perfect to believe in love again.
