Hema Malini read
Irving Wallace's novel "The Second Lady" (1980), where she got the story idea for "Sharara" and decided that her brother produce it under her home banner. After working with the successful "Meri Awaaz Suno" with director S.V.Rajendra Singh, Hema decided to sign him to direct. The film had only 3 songs and very good background score by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Raaj Kumar first took lessons to play violin and to dance waltz for the beautiful Lata Mangeshkar song ' shabnam ka yeh khatra hai.....'. The song was originally sung by someone else, since Lata had gone on a concert tour, but when she returned, she recorded the song , which made it into the film and became a hit. At the end of the film, Shatrughan Sinha and Hema lie down on air strip and the small plane flew very low and passes near them. Later they released that scene was dangerous.
