Trivia

The show's writers occasionally satirized Monk's nearly perfect memory. For example Monk: Mr. Monk Goes Back to School (2003)(#2.1), he can't remember if a crime scene on a roof is his fourth or fifth worst nightmare, since he "didn't bring the list". See more »

Goofs

It is quite obvious to anyone who knows the real San Francisco Bay Area that the series was not filmed there. There are numerous references to extreme temperatures (when the Bay Area is famous for its year-round mild temps) as well as large rolling hills with nothing on them (SF is very densely populated with little left untouched). Quotes

lyrics: [theme song] # It's a jungle out there / Disorder and confusion everywhere / No one seems to care / Well I do / Hey, who's in charge here? / It's a jungle out there / Poison in the very air we breathe / Do you know what's in the water that you drink? / Well I do, and it's amazing / People think I'm crazy, 'cause I worry all the time / If you paid attention, you'd be worried too / You better pay attention / Or this world we love so much might just kill you / I could be wrong now, but I don't ...

Miss Monk So Much!

I didn't start watching Monk until it was almost off the air but heard such good things about it that I finally thought I'd gave it a chance. So glad I did because it quickly became one of my favorite comedies/who did it shows I've ever seen! It is the perfect blend of comedy and mystery. Even though Tony Shalhoub won a ton of awards for his work as Monk, including numerous Emmy & Golden Globe awards, he still is such an underrated actor who was perfect in this as Monk! I miss this great show so much!
