Storyline

Video game version of book II from author J.K. Rowling's famous Harry Potter series. Visit the Weasley home and explore Diagon Alley for your supplies before returning to Hogwarts, where you can refine your Quidditch skills, practice new magic spells, even buy gadgets from the trouble-making twins Fred & George. Of course, all this sneaking around the school should provide enough clues to ultimately make your way into the Chamber of Secrets, face the mysterious Tom Riddle, and duel the basilisk to save Ginny. Trivia

EA Games was working on the game from a shooting script of the respective film, which resulted in some elements that got cut from the theatrical release still found their way into the game. Since the game was released slightly ahead of the film for promotional reasons, gamers got treated to scenes such as Lucius' visit to Knockturn Alley fully replicated verbatim, that would otherwise not get seen in its filmed version until the DVD came out. Goofs

For the US release, actor Jim Dale is the narrator, whereas for the European release, the narrator is actor Stephen Fry. On the European PS2 version, particularly on earliest editions, the reading of some of the collector's cards would in a few cases be in the wrong voice (Dale instead of Fry). See more »

Alternate Versions

For the US release, actor Jim Dale is the narrator, whereas for the European release, the narrator is actor Stephen Fry. This corresponds to their respective roles as readers of the audiobook versions of the novels. See more »

Not the best Harry Potter game for PS2
23 July 2005 | by indianmanSee all my reviews

I have played this game and have to say that the graphics and everything about this game is except for the fact when PS2 put this game out they made is as a compact disc(blue tinted)instead of a DVD-ROM silver tinted. I say this because with my system it sometimes does not play properly. I think that there could have been a lot more action in this game. I do wish it would have been silver tinted since when EA games put out the rest of the series so far they have all been DVD-ROM style games. This game except for some flaws was really good and a good buy if the compact disc type games work well with your system.
