Trick ’R Treat w/Michael Dougherty in NYC and more screening news

It’s time for another update on horror-film screenings for the Halloween 2009 season and beyond; you can track back through our previous items starting here. The most exciting news is the addition of a very special show to the Scary Movies 3 series currently unspooling at New York City’s Lincoln Center: Trick ’R Treat with Michael Dougherty (pictured) in attendance!

The All Hallow’s anthology feature unspools at the Walter Reade Theater (165 West 65th Street, upper level) this Wednesday, October 21 at 8:30 p.m., followed by a Q&A with Dougherty. DVD news #3: Sins Of The Father art/details, contests, etc.

Indie filmmaker Glen Baisley gave Fango the first look at the cover and the content info for Sins Of The Father, his third feature in the series begun with Fear Of The Dark and The Tenement. Sins hits disc from Burning Moon Pictures December 1.

The movie wraps up Baisley’s trilogy centering on the Black Rose Killer, following Peter Jacobs (Richard Redmond) as he returns to the town of Fairview Falls to dig up the truth behind the slaying of his family. What he finds is that the killer (Pete Barker) is now dying, and the story also incorporates flashbacks to his younger self (the late Joe Lauria). Canadian genre actress Isabelle Stephen co-stars, and the movie will be accompanied on the DVD by:
