Did You Know?

The "Huh Huh Humbug" segment marks the only time Principal McVicker's family has ever appeared on the show (though since this is intended more as a parody of A Christmas Carol than anything else, and actually happens in a dream, whether he has a big family like this for real is debatable.) Beavis: [Reading the quote carved on his grave] Heeeere..luuuu..ieees..beeee..aaaaay..beeee..aaay..vis, Whoa, check it out, there's some dead dude with the same name as me,, he never scored, heh, what a loser.
Buzzcut (Ghost of Christmas Future): Dammit Beavis, this is YOUR grave stone, this is how you will end up if you don't make any changes in your life, and don't you see, you never did anything with your life, you never left the house, all you did was watch Pornography, and because of that, you NEVER SCORED!!!

Beavis & Butt-Head's cool, must-see Christmas special
25 December 2002 | by Michael_PilkingtonSee all my reviews

Beavis & Butt-Head spend their Christmas watching music videos, reading letters from viewers and making fun of two Christmas classics, "A Christmas Carol" and "It's a Wonderful Life."

In the first short, "Huh Huh Humbug," Beavis (literally) dreams of becoming a boss at Burger World where he makes Butt-Head and McVicker work late. He goes home and watches a pornographic video, but keeps getting interrupted by ghosts of Butt-Head, Tom Anderson, Van Driessen, and Mr. Buzzcut. Each one of them - except for Butt-Head - suggests that Beavis should clean up his act or else. Funny as hell!

The second short, "It's a Miserable Life," has a guardian angel who is assigned to look over Beavis and Butt-Head separate the two by showing how the world would be a better place without Butt-Head. As the angel shows Butt-Head around town, he insists that it is actually a lot better without him, but Butt-Head disagrees and says that it sucks. This short does not suck, but is not quite as good as the first.

This is not their first Christmas special. Mike Judge made one or two Christmas specials before, but they were much shorter. This one at 45 minutes is primarily geared towards fans of the two slackers or anyone who loathes Christmas or in need of a good laugh. The only thing that blows is the music videos. You might also find some humor in Beavis and Butt-head's responses to letters from viewers. This video belongs to your collection of other Christmas videos along with "Frosty the Snowman," and "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer." Merry Christmas.

My evaluation: B+
